Colon hydrotherapy is the cleansing of the large intestine using water. The colon itself is generally between five and five-and-a-half feet long and it is important that all of it is cleansed. The cleansing is achieved by using between 40 to 80 litres of purified water to wash the colon. The colon generally has no more than one litre of water in it at a time in order to prevent overstretching. When undergoing colon hydrotherapy, there should be no internal pressure and therefore no discomfort.
The therapist will be on hand throughout the whole procedure to answer any questions you may have and also to ensure that your needs are met. They may also give you a deep belly massage to assist in the elimination of waste, and may also massage certain meridian points to assist in detoxification.
