Studying Homeopathy

Studying Homeopathy

Ever wanted to explore your talent for healing people with some formal training and new skills? A career as a homeopath could enable you to work for yourself and enjoy the flexibility and quality of life that self employment can bring. Homeopathy is one of many natural therapies that people are turning to as an alternative, or complementary to, conventional medical treatment.  This is because they are generally perceived to be less invasive, gentler and carry far less probability of negative side effects for patients.

What Is Homeopathy?

Homeopathy is an ancient method of healing that uses progressively diluted remedies derived from vegetable, animal and mineral material.  These are specifically formulated to treat each illness, based on the overriding principle that ‘like cures like'.The highly diluted doses in the remedies consist of elements that would cause similar symptoms to those experienced by the patient. And while it is gaining more widespread acceptance in the West, it is widely practiced across India and Latin America.

Studying Homeopathy

An introductory course in homeopathy will typically cover the application of homoeopathic medicine and the role of homoeopathy in health care.  Other aspects that will typically be covered include homeopathic laws, remedy preparation, prognosis and healing as well as clinical application of homeopathic remedies.  And while full time study may be appropriate for some, many choose the ease and flexibility of online based distance education for added convenience.

Working As A Homeopath

Newly qualified individuals will often work for an established homeopathic practitioner to gain the necessary experience. Homeopaths typically consult as private practitioners individually, or as members of a larger natural therapies practice – where a range of holistic services may be on offer. An initial consultation typically last around an hour with an examination of your medical history and symptoms, with appointments then scheduled fortnightly or monthly.
