What is Total Body Modification (TBM)?

Total Body Modification (TBM) is an advanced technique in kinesiology that evaluates, rebalances and restores energy imbalances in the organs and functions of the body that need correction before a person can achieve health and well-being. It locates the imbalances using the technique of muscle testing, and corrects it by restoring balance to the nervous system by stimulating reflex points that are located along the spine.

How Does TBM Work?

Where chiropractic is used to correct body structure to enhance its function, TBM corrects the functional physiology, which in itself improves the structure of the body.

The brain controls the various components of the nervous system. Similar to a computer, the sensory nerve fibres send messages to the brain, which it interprets before instructing the associated body parts what to do next via the motor fibres.

The neurons, also called nerve cells, that are located in the centre of the brain are responsible for controlling individual body parts. When a body part is under stress, the corresponding neurons are too which depolarise. As a consequence, no instruction is received from the brain to the affected organ when the brain receives the message. This may lead to a consequent loss in control over the affected organ.

Using a combination of muscle testing, a TBM practitioner can find the problem and rectify it by stimulating specific reflex points along the spine corresponding to the affected body parts/ systems. An instrument or the hands themselves are used to make the corrections, and the practitioner may also give small vials for you to hold while performing a manual muscle testing. This will allow the practitioner to identify the chemical stressors or allergens specific to your health.

Stimulating the specific areas help stimulate the brain to repolarize (fix the issue) the damaged neurons and allow the brain to regain control over the affected body part and guide the nervous system back to health. This removes any hindrances to the recovery the person may have been experiencing, restoring the function of the nervous system allowing optimum health.
