With the inclusion of Aromatherapy and Aromatic Medicine qualifications in the National Health Training Package, the Association supports the development of Aromatic Medicine and that high standards of education and practice are maintained by IAAMA accredited practitioners. The IAAMA is also actively involved in furthering the public's perception and knowledge of therapeutic aromatherapy and its safe and effective application in everyday life.
All IAAMA members are bound to a high standard of ethical and professional conduct through adherence to practitioner accreditation standards, Code of Ethics and Code of Practice. Membership with the International Aromatherapy and Aromatic Medicine Association lets you become part of a growing international organization dedicated to the promotion and advancement of Aromatherapy and Aromatic Medicine in natural medicine practice.
New to the IAAMA website are members' and teachers’ only forums where you will be able to post information regarding aromatherapy and education to assist your colleagues or gain answers to questions that you may have from experienced professional aromatherapy practitioners, educators and researchers.
Memberships In joining the IAAMA you are associating with a world recognised professional body dedicated to the advancement of Aromatherapy. The IAAMA represents the professional interests of Practitioners of Aromatherapy and students striving to achieve professional status. The IAAMA is dedicated to the achievement of the highest level of training and professionalism and the promotion of Aromatherapy and Aromatic Medicine as a natural healing modality.
A majority of IAAMA members have joined the Association for recognition by their peers and the public of their qualifications and professional standing. The IAAMA offers opportunities for members to network amongst its membership through its national quarterly journal "Simply Essential", regular regional and annual meetings and ongoing education support.
The levels of Membership are in accordance with the National Training Package - Accredited Members are:- Aromatic Medicine Practitioners - Advanced Diploma
- Clinic Aromatherapist - Diploma
- Aromatherapist - Cert IV, and
Non-Accredited Members are:- Students
- Friends / Journal subscribers
Journal The "Simply Essential” journal of the International Aromatherapy and Aromatic Medicine Association (IAAMA) is published three times a year. The journal has grown from an 8 page newsletter in the late 80's to a 30 - 40 page journal. This has been possible by the input of members and friends of the association.The journal is comprised of informative articles, case studies, products reviews, upcoming events, reports from council, book reviews, competitions and much, much more. Articles are written especially for the journal so they are designed to inform and educate aromatherapists as well as people generally interested in aromatherapy. Companies and individuals advertise their products, skills or other services in the journal, which allows readers to be kept up to date with new products and courses relevant to aromatherapists.
