Programs and Packages

Natural Birth Preparation
This four week program has been shown to reduce labour time, boost stamina, soften pelvic ligaments and calm nerves. It helps you physically, mentally and emotionally prepare for birth. Treatments start from week 36 of your pregnancy. Ideal for first time mothers, women wanting a VBAC and any woman trying for an efficient natural birth.

Acupressure For Labour
Developed by midwife and acupuncturist Debra Betts, this flexible workshop teaches safe and effective pain relief techniques for labour. Designed for you and your birth partner, these easy techniques help your body to establish efficient contractions, encourage labour to progress if slowed or stopped, relieve pain and nausea, calm anxiety or nerves, and assist with breast feeding after delivery.

Breech Babies
Starting on week 34, these treatments have an 80% success rate. The program includes two acupuncture and moxibustion treatments. To maximise results you are taught how to continue easy moxibustion treatment at home.

Early Pregnancy Support
Early pregnancy can be a delicate time. Acupuncture offers women proactive treatment for nausea, fatigue, anxiety, cramping, spotting and threatened miscarriage. This program is suitable for natural conceptions or following IVF treatment. It is particularly recommended for women with a history of infertility or recurrent miscarriage or those who have a high risk pregnancy. Treatment occurs weekly from the date of a positive pregnancy test until week 12.

The package includes one acupuncture treatment and three weeks of breast milk and baby friendly herbs. Perfect for new mums who want the energy to fully enjoy the newest addition to their family.

Services

Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a very relaxing experience. Many people experience a profound sense of calm and a heightened feeling of well being after their acupuncture treatment.

Acupuncture is the gentle insertion of hair-fine, sterile, single-use needles to elicit your body's innate healing response. Through the stimulation of specific points, acupuncture promotes the smooth flow of qi and blood that is paramount for your good health and wellbeing.

Chinese Herbal Medicine
An integral branch of Chinese medicine, Chinese herbs are a safe and effective way of treating persistent, chronic conditions and accelerating the healing process in acute illness.

Herbs are prescribed in tailor-made formulas to suit your individual needs. The herbal products consist of natural plant parts such as roots, stems, branches, bark, leaves, flowers, fruit or seeds, and natural minerals.

Moxibustion, Cupping & Gua Sha

Moxibustion: is a warming treatment that is often used in conjunction with acupuncture to invigorate, nourish, and smooth qi flow in the meridians. Its gentle, penetrating warmth soaks into the muscles, making it particularly good for pain relief.

Cupping: is a dispersive therapy where smooth glass cups are used to create suction over a specific area. It provides very powerful pain relief and the effects are usually immediate.

Gua Sha: involves the gentle rubbing of the skin with the smooth edge of a porcelain spoon. It is mostly used in cases of muscular pain, myofascial contraction, immune dysfunction, and traumatic injury.

Lifestyle & Dietary Management
Lifestyle and dietary adjustments are often recommended to aid recovery from illness or to re-establish healthy habits for your general wellbeing. Simple modifications to your dietary and lifestyle habits can greatly enhance treatment outcomes and minimise the total number of treatments needed.
