In Japan, acupuncture has a tradition of over 1400 years. It uses the traditional processes of root and symptom treatments. The root treatment seeks to address the basic imbalances in the patient utilising the theories of yin and yang; the five phases and the techniques of pulse and abdominal palpation and other inspection methods to discover problems of Qi circulation in the twelve channels. Local treatment addresses symptomatic relief of the patient's complaint. For the root treatment I use Ion pumping cords (as taught by Dr. Manaka).
Initial session
I have a chat with you to find out more about you and your needs. We will talk about what treatments you have received so far and how much your condition has improved with those treatments and of course you will receive your acupuncture treatment. You will experience a constitutional balancing treatment which will calm you right to the core, followed by a symptomatic treatment.
The consultation and treatment will take about one hour.
Do you know acupuncture is great to prevent you from getting ill in the first place? I know that is a bit of a statement, but having acupuncture on a regular basis like once a month can do wonders for your health.
About the clinic
Akira acupuncture offers its services from a private home in leafy Sinnamon Park. Located at the front of the house, I share the welcoming and happy space with Olivia Mar from Yin Therapies. Olivia is a superb massage therapist and Finch therapy practitioner. The clinic rooms are light and airy with views to the private garden and are fully air conditioned for your comfort.
