The Alexander Technique

Alexander Technique and Yoga
An Alexander approach to co-ordination can support and enhance the practice of yoga. Learning its application would be of relevance both to students beginning yoga and to yoga teachers wishing to refine their personal and/or their teaching practice. The combination of yoga and the Alexander Technique is particularly benificial for injury related issues and rehabilitation. Jen enjoys working with you to assist you to adapt your yoga practice in a way that suits your body's structural needs.
Alexander Technique Lessons
Alexander Technique lessons are structured around your individual needs. Lessons are generally taught on a one to one basis and run for approximately 1 hour. My practice is located just a few kilometres from the CBD at the Wellbeing Centre on the grounds of the beautiful Abbotsford Convent.
Generally a series of lessons is the most effective way to develop the skills for beneficial and lasting change. Discounts are offered for blocks of three, five and ten lessons.
I am a recognised provider for a range of health insurance funds that provide rebates to their members for Alexander Technique lessons. So if you have private health insurance, ask your health fund if they cover Alexander Technique.

Qualification Details
Diploma of Alexander Technique Teaching and a member of the Australian Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (AUSTAT).
I have a long term interest in applying the Alexander Technique to yoga, and have practiced yoga in this way for over 6 years.
I also hold a Bachelor of Science (Honours) and a PhD in Molecular Biology.
