Alison Keane - Educating In Mindfulness
Mindfulness is a way of being in the present moment, a specific way, and just noticing what arises in the mind without judgement and as open-heartedly as possible.
In Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) participants learn progressively how to do this within a supportive group environment. A commitment to practising meditation and mindfulness in everyday life is also important for positive change. This change in the way that we 'meet' what arises in our lives - challenging life events, stress, painful moods - may help us better cope in both the short and long term. We can then be more available to enjoy the wonderful and joyful things that happen in our lives as they're happening.
About Us
I teach Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) an eight week course to show people how to use mindfulness, breath awareness, meditation and gentle movement in their lives as a way of managing stress in the short and long term.

About Alison
Alison is a psychotherapist, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) facilitator and hatha yoga teacher. Alison teaches hatha yoga classes day and evening, and to private students. Alison studied MBSR under the direction of Dr Jon Kabat-Zinn in northern California.

Mindfulness is about being 'present' to each new moment as it happens...pleasurable moments, fun times, even tough times.
When we consciously hold attention in the present moment without judgement we are learning to exercise the 'mindfulness muscle'. Like all workouts this takes practice and discipline.
