Management of chronic pain, muscle imbalance, injury and muscle tension. As a therapist I aim to promote musculoskeletal balance using various
methods of manual therapy including cupping, joint mobilisation, soft-tissue manipulation, muscle
energy technique, sports injury massage, deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial
release, positional release, and lymphatic drainage.
Alternatively, you may just want to wind down and enjoy an uplifting relaxation massage or lymphatic drainage treatment. Both are excellent for promoting better sleep patterns, elevating the mood and decreasing anxiety. Many people fall asleep during this treatment or report an overwhelming sense of calm. Essential oils may be used to enhance this process. Lymphatic drainage also serves to stimulate the immune system by gently
removing toxins and reducing fluid in the tissues.
Rejuvinate your body and mind and reduce pain today.
Anna-Mai Hoek - Remedial Therapist
GOAL
As a Remedial Therapist my goal is to attempt to "re-set" the body by first recognising imbalance then manipulating the soft-tissues and gently mobilising structures to promote better musculoskeletal health and provide significant pain relief. Relaxation techniques may also be applied to enhance well-being. Treatments are individually structured and cater to a client's specific needs and expected outcomes.
HOW I WORK
As a therapist I view the body and its structures as part of a complex web of interrelated parts, all affecting and influencing each other. My approach to treatment is based around this theory. Not only will I treat the symptoms presented by a client, I will attempt to find the cause of the problem and treat it at its source, be that structural, functional or lifestyle induced.
Treatment may include:
Postural assessment and/or orthopaedic testing
Myofascial release
Trigger point therapy
Joint mobilisation
Deep tissue massage
Positional Release
Muscle energy technique
Cupping
Relaxation Massage
HOME CARE
Clients may be prescribed stretches or strengthening exercises when necessary to aid in the healing process. Advice may be given on balancing work and lifestyle demands to ensure good mental health and well-being, an important pre-cursor to ensuring good physical health.
I believe taking a holistic view of treatment can afford the client a wider range of health benefits and ultimately achieve a better result.
