Welcome to Annie's Body Balancing Massage
A holistic approach combining Massage, Acupressure, & Hot Towels aimed at bringing you to a balanced and relaxed state of being. This is achieved through treating the cause of body imbalances, pain and/or injury.
My treatment works holistically in that it helps the mind, body, and soul and not only is the treatment therapeutic, the environment is also healing, peaceful, calming and relaxing. My intention to heal is energetically maintained through daily meditation.
About the treatment
I start my sessions using acupressure which is effective in working on the meridian system promoting the well-being of your internal organs and nervous system. Meridian points can become blocked through daily interactions, physical activities, stress and other demands placed on you on a daily basis. Unblocking the meridian points enhances the flow of energy "Chi" through your entire system. This promotes inner health and well being and helps your body to recover faster and respond quicker to the benefits of therapeutic massage.
Acupressure starts the healing process throughout your entire body, followed by heated towels placed along the back of your body, from neck to feet.
Hmmm... Take a deep breath and imagine yourself relaxing already.
Not only does it have a calming effect on your psyche, it also relaxes the muscles. This makes for a more enjoyable massage treatment, and enables me to access to the deeper layers of muscles, where tension and tightness generally reside, without intense pain being experienced.
Then the massage begins...
I use natural aromatherapy massage oil and in winter the oil is warmed for your comfort. I work around the entire body, massaging, feeling where the tension is coming from, working on a specific muscle group and moving on before it becomes too sensitive and locks up trying to fight off any more pressure. Then around the body, again and again, and with each rotation the muscles and stress points relax until they are free, allowing the muscles to recover and blood to flow through; rejuvenating the muscle and offering relief.
Why do I move continually around the entire body, massaging and moving on?
Ultimately it helps the muscles respond better, and generally you will experience less intense pain. Most importantly it assists to identify the cause of the problem, not just treat the symptoms. This is achieved by working a specific muscle group and then moving on to give the muscles time to respond through a brief rest period. Therefore when I return to that muscle group healing has already begun and I can either work deeper, if needed, or relax the muscle more and continue on to move around the entire body locating more muscles that are restricting the desired full range of pain free movement.
Amazingly, and frequently, what you present with is not always the cause. Often a client presenting with a sore back finds that it is actually caused by tightness in his/her hamstrings or quads. Therefore working all the muscle groups helps me identify and treat the cause and generally eliminates all symptoms.
I strongly recommend this Holistic Whole Body Balancing Massage treatment not only to treat pain and injury, also to maintain and/or improve a higher level of well-being internally, physically, neurologically and energetically.
Everyone can benefit from this treatment. I have successfully treated a wide range of people including elite athletes, labourers and tradesmen, CEO's and office workers, to stay at home parents and the elderly.
I look forward to working with you.
