Herbalism
Herbal medicine – also known as botanical medicine –is the use of plant remedies and has been used for medicinal purposes long before recorded history. Herbalism is used in many different cultures around the world and has become mainstream in the treating and prevention of the underlying causes of symptoms. With advances in clinical research and trials, new insights have shown the value of medical herbalism to be effective for a wide variety of health issues.

Plants are the basis of human diet and plant medicines can be seen as an extension of a good diet, harnessing natural substances to correct imbalances that can cause ill health. Herbal medicine under the guidance of a qualified herbalist is safe, gentle and free from side-effects.

After a thorough assessment of an individual’s health, a combination of herbs can be suggested. The relief of long standing symptoms and feeling of increased energy and emotional balance are frequently apparent in weeks.

Individuals of all ages can benefit from herbal medicine. Those already receiving treatment from their doctor may also be helped, and are prescribed only herbs that do not adversely interact with other medication.

IRIDOLOGY

Iridology is the examination of the iris, the coloured part of the eye. Every organ corresponds with a section of the iris. Observing markings, signs and discolourations on the iris surface, around the iris rim and pupil edge can indicate inherited weaknesses and strengths. Iridology cannot diagnose a disease; however, it can detect underlying signs of developing symptoms at an early stage. Various options can then be explored in individualising a health care plan to make changes in diet and lifestyle as a preventative measure.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture involves the insertion of needles into specific points or meridians which stimulates and enhances the flow of Qi or energy allowing for the harmonious energetic balance of the body. It allows for a thorough treatment of the whole person not just the symptoms of the ailment.

An acupuncture consultation takes one hour which thoroughly investigates your presenting complaint, your medical history, diet and general lifestyle.

A treatment protocol based on Chinese diagnosis is utilized depending on the diagnosis to bring about health.

Acupuncture can be chosen to relieve:

  • Muscular-skeletal and neurological pain
  • Sciatica, back pain, numbness and tingling
  • Headaches
  • Circulation problems (numbness, tingling, cold hands and feet)
  • Stress, anxiety and depression
  • Respiratory problems
  • Digestive and intestinal illness
  • Mens and womens reproductive health (fertility)
  • Disorders of the mouth and eyes
  • Addictions smoking, weight loss and drugs
