Study Bachelor of Health Science (Nutritional Medicine)
Nutritional Medicine is the study of food, its nutrients and how diet affects health and wellbeing.
The Nutritional Medicine practitioner views food, diet and nutritional supplements from the perspective of their therapeutic potential, providing dietary advice to clients and prescribing nutritional supplements to assist in the treatment of a broad range of health conditions.
This three year full time (or equivalent part-time) course provides graduates with specialist nutritional medicine clinical knowledge and skills to become professional practitioners in the area of nutrition and nutritional practice. The course includes in-depth studies in medical science, research, nutritional biochemistry and clinical nutritional/dietary medicine, clinical case taking, and communication and professional interaction.
Graduates are eligible for membership with a range of professional associations including:
- Australian Natural Therapists Association (ANTA)
- Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS)
- The Nutrition Society of Australia Inc. (NSA)
