Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic is a safe and effective modality that can be performed on all age groups, from newborns through to the elderly, also during pregnancy. It may help with a wide range of conditions, from asthma and colic, to sporting injuries, back pain, headaches and body preparation for labor.
Here at Awakening we take a different approach to our chiropractic care. Included in our consultations is a 15 min massage to help prepare the muscles before the adjustment. This not only helps the adjustments to hold better, but it’s a great way to unwind and helps to eliminate any toxins that accumulate in the body due to everyday stress and muscle tension. The process will leave you feeling balanced and refreshed.
Massage
Feel like a Massage??? We offer a wide variety of massage including Remedial, Deep Tissue, Sports massage, Trigger Point, Relaxation, pregnancy massage and Swedish massage. We also offer a complete 2 hour body rebalance. Working with you at your own pace to iron out as much tension as possible.
Kinesiology
Kinesiology is a muscle testing technique used as a diagnostic tool to determine the state of balance in the body. It involves your practitioner testing each organ and meridian system firstly to determine if the body is in a state of imbalance, and secondly whether this imbalance stems from a structural, emotional, nutritional, toxic or energetic form. Once identified, the cause of the imbalance is treated.
The Word Kinesiology means the study of how the muscles act and coordinate the body. Kinesiology is the science of energy balancing and is unique form of Holistic therapy as it combines the knowledge of Chinese acupuncture, osteopathy, nutrition, psychology and the subtle energy bodies (chakras). It promotes physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health emphasizing health maintenance, disease prevention and client responsibility.
The muscles are used as a biofeedback system to identify the underlying cause of blockage from the persons subconscious mind via the nervous system. Muscle monitoring is used to access information from the “bio-computer”, the brain, in relation to the problem and also Guides the practitioner to choose the priority correction in order to stimulate the persons innate healing capacity and supporting their physiology to return to normal function.
Kinesiology is unique as it looks beyond symptoms. It recognizes the flows of energy within the body. These energy flows can be evaluated by testing the function of the muscles, which in turn reflects the body’s overall state of structural, chemical and environmental balance. In this way Kinesiology taps into energies that more conventional modalities overlook.
Our life energy (chi) can become blocked by a number of factors such as emotional trauma, unresolved stress, nutritional deficiencies or self-limiting beliefs held in the subconscious mind. This blockage can cause a number of symptoms such as fatigue, poor immunity, aches and pains, headaches, food sensitivities, emotional stress, depression, hormones, infertility, nutrition, learning difficulties, general well-being and much more. It can help upgrade your performance in every area of your life.
Neuro Emotional Technique (NET)
Basic emotions - Fear, Anger, Grief, Disgust, and many others - can negatively influence our health when they don’t resolve normally. When our body fails to “let go” of what was originally a healthy response, it can short-circuit our nervous system, affecting our beliefs, our behaviours, and even our physical body.
Scientists recognize the connection between the nervous system, emotions, and health. Historically, emotions were thought to reside entirely in the brain. Now we know other parts of the body hold emotions too. If you’ve ever felt butterflies in your stomach, or referred to something as a “pain in the neck,” or encountered someone who was “heartbroken” or who “vented their spleen,” then you’re familiar with how parts of the body can be linked to our emotions.
Even imagined events can stimulate a response and have a dramatic effect on how our body works. Have you ever awakened in the middle of the night in a pool of sweat with your heart racing after a disturbing dream? Fortunately, the attacker wasn’t real, but your body thought he was! Of course, we’re more conscious of this process when we have to give a speech, ask the boss for a raise, suffer the loss of a loved one, or experience other negatively-charged emotional events.
The “emotional baggage” associated with past events in our lives can sometimes haunt us for years. Like a computer “bug,” unresolved negative associations are stored in our bodies, often short-circuiting our true desires; even our health.
NET can help you identify and “let go” of a stuck emotional event (real or imagined) that is locked in a particular part of your body. The wonderful result can be a new level of health and confidence.
Reiki
Reiki is an ancient Japanese healing technique where energy is transmitted through the hands of the practitioner into your body. This a very gentle healing technique that can take place on many levels, whether it be emotional, physical or spiritual.

Cancellation Policy:
Please note that we do have a Cancellation Policy. Due to the large number of people on our waiting list, we require 24 hours notice for a cancellation. If 24 hours notice is not given, you will be charged a cancellation fee of 50% of the scheduled fee. If no notice is given at all and you simply do not show up to your appointment you will be charged the full fee of your appointment. There will be no further treatment given until your account is paid. This policy applies to all treatments booked, with any practitioner in this clinic.
Garth Pywell - BChiroSC, MChiro
Garth holds a Bachelor of Chiropractic Science and a Master of Chiropractic, graduating from Macquarie University in 2003. Having worked in clinics in Sydney, Newcastle and Dubbo, it became apparent to Garth that while the majority of patients responded to chiropractic care, others still did not. He went on to study the effect of emotions and toxicity on the human body, and along with wife Tegan, founded Awakening Health and Chiropractic Centre in an effort to address and educate people on the mind-body connection. He is currently furthering his education of the Human body and alternative sciences, enrolled in the Masters in Acupuncture at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
