Personal programs for postural perfection

At Back On Track, we aim for the highest possible standards of practice.

Whether it’s hands on physiotherapy, postural retraining or Clinical Pilates you require, we provide all the quality assistance you need.

Our philosophy is that once you understand the muscle imbalances in your body, and how the body is supposed to function, you can take back control of your own health and rehabilitation.

Back On Track is a small, home based practice, where quality one on one training and physiotherapy is provided.

Physiotherapy:

At Back On Track we offer manual therapy for spinal and sports injuries and post-surgery rehabilitation, pre- and post-natal care, headaches, joint replacements etc. Our staff are courteous, polite, highly trained, and will educate you in lay terms about how to best look after you injury.

What is Clinical Pilates?

Clinical Pilates is a post graduate accredited training program for physiotherapists who work in spinal and sports injury rehabilitation. All level 4 Clinical Pilates trained physiotherapists can be located on the international registry of Clinical Pilates practitioners and have completed the highest level of postgraduate training available at present.

Lisa Ellis, the practice owner, is a qualified physiotherapist who has worked in the field of sports and spinal physiotherapy for many years, and has level 4 training in post graduate Clinical Pilates.

Whilst traditional pilates is suitable for people without injuries, Clinical Pilates is suitable for everyone, and is particularly aimed at people recovering from sporting injuries, neck and back problems, and pre- and post-natal ladies.

Clinical Pilates is not a quick fix. It is a means of retraining the body to work the way nature intended, which will lead to permanent pain relief, and increased energy.

Initial assessment/Training session:

All our participants undergo an initial assessment and training session. During this session the physiotherapist will perform a full postural assessment and determine where your individual muscle weaknesses lie. You will then be educated in how the body works and how to correct your imbalances, and go on to learn how to perform pilates exercises in a way that is suitable and appropriate for you.

This initial Consultation takes 60-75 minutes and costs $100 for adults and $90 for pensioners.

Follow-Up Sessions:

Following on from your initial consultation, you will attend between 4-6 one on one sessions to learn the full home exercise program. You can then go on to continue you program at home or attend for further personal training or group classes. These sessions cost $70 for adults and $60 for pensioners and go for 35-40 minutes.

Personal training:

Personal training sessions in Clinical Pilates are available in groups of 1 or 2, once you have learned your individual home program. These sessions can be for an hour or 40 minutes.

Classes:

We hold our small group classes at:
    PILGRIM UNITING CHURCH
    20-24 WESTFIELD DRIVE
    DONCASTER.
Classes are currently held on:
Tuesday nights at 6.30pm and 7.30pm.
Thursdays at 10.00am, 11.00am and 7.00pm.

Additional morning and evening classes will be made available if class sizes get too big. Class times may vary so please call to confirm times. Our classes are small groups of about 8.

Classes can be organised on request for groups of 5 or more. For example, pre/post-natal groups, arthritis groups, over 60’s groups, over size 18 groups, particular sporting clubs, all men/women groups etc. So get a group of your friends together and call Lisa (Principal Physiotherapist) to arrange a specific class.

Classes coincide with state school terms, usually blocks of ten. No classes are held on school holidays and public holidays.

Classes cost $20 per class or less if you attend more than once per week. You pay for the term (or what is left of the term) in advance.
