SERVICES What is Osteopathy? Osteopathy is a form of manual medicine that aims to relieve pain by restoring function and improving mobility of the whole body via using a wide array of hands on techniques.
Osteopathic techniques include specific massage and stretching of muscle and other soft tissue along with mobilisation and manipulation of specific joints.
Osteopaths are government registered primary health care practitioners who complete a five year uni masters degree.
How can Blue Mountains Osteopathy help you?
The professional and caring practitioners at Blue Mountains Osteopathy can help by providing safe and effective pain relief. During a consultation a thorough medical history is taken in conjunction with a physical examination to determine a diagnosis. If necessary the Osteopath will request further testing/imaging, through corresponding with your GP. Based on the above, the treatment is individualised to each patient and includes postural advice, ergonomic advice and specific stretching exercises.
Furthermore the practitioners work in close alliance with your GP and other local health professionals such as massage therapists, podiatrists, nutritionists, naturopaths, exercise physiologists and acupuncturists, to enhance your overall health.
