Bowen Therapy is for everyone, for all ages, including people who are very fit and those who need a more gentle approach. We owe a debt of gratitude to Tom Bowen who developed this technique during his life in Geelong, 1916 - 1982.
I like to pamper my clients and make the experience as relaxing as possible. I play music and ensure you feel at ease, using only as much pressure as you feel comfortable with. Some of my clients even fall asleep!
I will treat your spine first, as this is our primary support. I will perform gentle moves over the skin and fascia adjacent to the spine. The fascia is the covering over our internal structures. Recent research suggests that the fascia is much more important than previously thought. It seems it has many more pain receptors than muscle and I wonder if this could be the reason many people say that massage does not give them the lasting relief they get from Bowen Therapy.
I will taylor the treatment to meet your needs and I usually include your feet, as we need a strong foundation to keep our bodies in balance and the head to calm your nervous system.
Pranic Healing
I also offer Pranic Healing. This is a type of energy healing, using a crystal, which is designed to restore beneficial energy to your body. Should you choose, I can include this in your Bowen treatment or do this as a stand alone treatment.
