SERVICES
Welcome to Body Stress Release Technique

BODY STRESS RELEASE is a gentle, yet effective technique which assists the body in its in-built ability to maintain and heal itself.

Releasing is rapid, but if stress has been stored for a long time, more releases may be required over a period of time.

Causes of ‘Body Stress’
  • Mechanical Stress:
    - Such as accidents, poor posture or incorrect Lifting

  • Chemical Stress:
    - substances we inhale, ingest or touch which may irritate the nervous system

  • Mental & Emotional Stress:
    - cause tension to the neck, shoulders and abdomen.

Even if these stresses are mild, they tend to accumulate, causing the muscles to gradually lock up. These tensions become locked into the body as a result of stress overload, which affects the nerves, thereby undermining the body’s communication system.

Who needs BSR

Body Stress Release is for everyone ...of any age

Body Stress Release is for everyone, from infants to the elderly. Babies under 18 months are assessed for body stress with the BSR practitioner carrying out the tests whilst the baby lies on the mother's chest.

Body Stress Release clients are usually looking for relief from pain, stiffness or other discomfort.

Body Stress Release is not a diagnosis or treatment of any specific condition or disease. It is concerned only with locating and releasing stored tension, so that the body is assisted in its in-built ability to maintain and heal itself.

The Body Stress Release Technique

With the client fully clothed and lying down, the practitioner carries out a series of tests to locate the exact areas of body stress.

The practitioner then determines the precise direction in which the lines of tension exist, using the body as a biofeedback mechanism. A gentle stimulus is then applied using the hands. This encourages the body to release its stored tension, assisting the body in its inbuilt ability to maintain and heal itself.

Testimonials

"For at least 10 years, I suffered from tennis elbow. Each year, I would visit my GP for a steroid injection. This would alleviate the symptoms, a constant dull pain in the elbow, plus a moment of indescribable agony should anyone touch my elbow or should it so much as lightly brush against a wall or doorframe.

These injections may have masked the problem, but they certainly didn't solve it. After a few months, the effects would wear off and I would return to the doctor for another. He would always express concern at the amount of steroids entering my body, but seemed unable to suggest an alternative.

I am a radio presenter, and Paul came on my program to talk about Body Stress Release in our regular Health feature. I have interviewed any number of complementary practitioners and generally remain fairly sceptical, but when Paul said he could solve my problem, I thought: 'What have I got to lose?' After just one session, my arm was 80% better, and after the initial course of treatment, it was completely cured. Ever since, I have been able to prod or bang my elbow as hard as I would any other part of my body without the slightest trace of pain. Similarly, the constant dull throb is but a memory.

Several years on, I visit Paul for a maintenance session once every three months, just to be on the safe side.

I am astounded at how successful Body Stress Release has been for me, and delighted not to have to choose between regularly having foreign substances pumped into my body or putting up with constant pain.

"My neck and back hurt all the time" Sara Denman, 43, from Ascot, Berkshire. The first time I injured my neck was when I was working as a nurse and I foolishly lifted a patient by myself.
I heard my neck click and, that evening, it went into agonizing spasms. I had physiotherapy, but for the first few weeks I could hardly move. Fortunately I was well enough to get married seven weeks later but I never went back to nursing because of the injury to my neck.

When I got pregnant a year after Clive and I married, my lower back became very painful. I was told this was because of my neck injury and had physiotherapy again. I had three more children and my back problems got worse with each pregnancy. Acupuncture helped for a while, and I tried yoga but it wasn't right for me and I was in agony.

Three years ago Clive and I started our own marketing business. Now I have to sit at a desk all day and my back was hurting all the time. My homeopath, who I see for other reasons, recommended I see a therapist, Paul Masureik, who practices a brand-new technique that originated in South Africa called Body Stress Release. At my first appointment I lay on my front, fully clothed on a bed. Paul ran his hands over my vertebrae and gently stimulated the muscles by stroking and pressing them. It was the gentlest, most pain-free treatment I'd ever had but I felt much better after the first session. My neck felt freer and I had more energy. Each session lasts about 30 minutes and costs £25 and, at first, I went every few days, but now I go about once a month. I'm fine now but I still go because the treatment is so relaxing! I was always wary of my back before and couldn't do any vigorous exercise. Now I can go to aerobics without worrying, so I'm much fitter, too.
