and deep tissue work, such as trigger point therapy, I like to integrate it with the gentler modalities of Swedish massage or Aromatherapy, depending on your requirements.
This provides the basis for an effective, yet enjoyable massage experience. It can significantly contribute to the relief of pain, whilst at the same time inducing a deep state of relaxation, nourishing the nervous system and providing recuperative energy for body, mind and soul.
If stress is your main concern, I may suggest adding an acupressure scalp massage, as well as a lymphatic drainage facial. Or you might want to try a full body Aromatherapy Massage with a personalised blend of essential oils.
A great way to achieve a deep level of relaxation, restore your nervous system and melt away muscle tension and stress, is through Hot Stone Massage. It is a very nurturing and truly remarkable experience, for those who want to float away ...
Hot Stone Massage is relatively new in Australia and mainly practised in Day Spas - it makes for a beautiful and special GIFT VOUCHER for a loved one.
Another gift idea are our vouchers for the Massage & Spa Ritual combinations (more about them below). They provide a gift of health and indulgence - what a treat! Why not pamper yourself? Since a registered health care provider is performing the Aromatic U Spa Rituals and combining them with genuine Remedial Massage, health fund rebates may apply for the massage component, depending on your fund and your level of cover.
Remember, massage is a necessity, not a luxury! Good health is the most important thing in life and investing in it will help you restore your vitality and equilibrium, soothing away physical, mental and emotional stress.
"A life with good health is a great blessing indeed. Life without good health is a miserable condition, even if one is the Lord of the whole earth." Swami Sivananda
CONTACT: Don't hesitate to contact me via the link above or by calling me, to discuss your massage requirements or to arrange an appointment. If I am with a client you will be greeted by my voicemail (sorry!), but please leave a message.
Alternatively, you can simply e-mail me your enquiry. I usually check my e-mail every day and my phone many times daily.
HEALTH FUND REBATES
All treatments include a remedial massage and may attract a private health fund rebate for the massage component, depending on your fund and your level of cover. I am a registered provider with all major health funds, including MBF and Medibank Private.
PRICES vary between Turramurra, North Ryde and Pymble because of varying overheads. A 1hour remedial massage in Pymble is $70. In Turramurra we charge $80/hour and we are on HICAPS (you only pay the gap). Currently several (not all) Health Funds accept direct processing through HICAPS for massage. EFTPOS and credit card payments are very welcome in Turramurra, but preferred payment for Pymble and North Ryde is cash or cheque at the end of the session. However, credit card details can be given for later processing. Thank you for your understanding.
PERSONAL
I became interested in natural therapies due to my own health concerns, which inspired me to become a practitioner helping others. Whilst already working as a qualified aromatherapist and massage therapist, I obtained a Certificate in Homoeopathy from the Sydney College of Homoeopathic Medicine and completed several other minor certificate courses. I believe that years of continuous studies, along with my practical work experiences, have helped me to mature into a passionate and empathetic practitioner.
I am a fully accredited member of the Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS).
Thank you for reading this web listing and hopefully thank you for giving me the opportunity to help you.

Please read the information below, if you would like to find out more about the different types of massage and body treatments I offer:
THERMAL (HOT) STONE MASSAGE
This ancient therapeutic treatment is both relaxing and stimulating, including remedial (deep tissue) massage and Swedish (relaxation) massage techniques. I like to use it together with pure essential oils, to also impart an Aromatherapy experience.
Warmed stones are being strategically placed on your body's trigger points and energy systems, melting away muscle tension and stress, restoring the nervous system and promoting digestion and blood cleansing. Simultaneously smooth, warmed and oiled volcanic stones glide across your body, alternating with long flowing strokes of warmed hands ... your mind is drifting into a deep state of relaxation, peace and balance - the ultimate massage experience! The treatment usually finishes with a short application of cool stones (esp. during the warmer months), allowing you to leave the session feeling refreshed and revitalised!
REMEDIAL (deep tissue) MASSAGE
This form of treatment consists mainly of deep tissue therapy used to address deep-seated tensions and muscle tightness.
It helps to
• reduce lower back pain, sore neck and shoulders
• alleviate headaches
• relieve arthritis and rheumatism
• increase flexibility and joint mobility
• improve immune system functioning
• increase mental and physical energy
• reduce stress, anxiety and sleeping problems
• improve circulation, etc.
You can choose to receive a remedial deep tissue massage enhanced with the use of essential oils.
In the demanding pace of life today, there seems to be so much stress! Prolonged high levels of cortisol and adrenalin (the body’s stress hormones) can lead to adrenal exhaustion and serious illness. Massage is excellent for stress management and therefore a powerful tool in preventative medicine.
During the massage electromagnetic energy is transferred from the giver to the receiver and back. This human energy transfer plays also an important role in the healing process!

AROMATHERAPY (immune-boosting, detoxifying, relaxing, pain-relieving, etc.)
Aromatherapy is a modern word for the ancient technique of using pure essential oils to re-balance the body and improve health and well-being. Pamper yourself with a wonderfully relaxing aromatherapy massage today!
It consists of a unique blend of several massage techniques, designed to produce a physical, spiritual, emotional and mental sense of harmony. The treatment starts with chakra balancing and lymphatic drainage to back and legs, where light pressure needs to be applied for best success. Sometimes our immune system becomes burdened by everyday stresses, such as difficult family or work situations, lack of exercise, wrong diet or just not getting enough rest. Lymphatic drainage constitutes a major part of the aromatherapy treatment and can greatly enhance your immune function. It is such a gentle healing art, and yet so powerful!
The aromatherapy treatment incorporates some energy work, acupressure scalp massage and a facial course. The facial course consists of cleansing, toning and a very relaxing lymphatic drainage facial.
During the treatment I also include a firm deep tissue REMEDIAL MASSAGE or relaxing SWEDISH MASSAGE to back/neck/shoulders, legs/feet and arms (depending on your requirements).
In Europe aromatherapy is increasingly being integrated with conventional medicine as an effective treatment for many ailments, and in France it is widely (and only) practised by general practitioners. In Australia essential oils are mainly used in conjunction with massage and relaxation. Providing you choose a qualified practitioner, massage is a very effective and safe way to use essential oils. Whilst many of them are indeed wonderfully relaxing, some have other scientifically proven properties, such as being
• analgesic
• antispasmodic
• antiinflammatory
• antibacterial
• antiviral
• antifungal
• antidepressant
• antibronchitic
• antiasthmatic
• blood pressure-reducing
• detoxifying (alterative)
• diuretic
• stimulating blood and lymph circulation
• immunostimulating
• hormone-balancing, etc. etc.
During the massage the essential oils are inhaled, as well as being absorbed into the bloodstream via the skin, interacting with body chemistry. Applied locally, they go directly to the area where they are needed most, such as sore muscles, inflammation, abdominal cramping, etc. Aromatherapy provides all the health advantages of a remedial massage, with the added therapeutic benefits of the pure essential oils. A combination of specially selected essential oils, together with the appropriate carrier oil, can be extremely beneficial in cases of
• stress related conditions
• sciatic nerve inflammation (please mention it when making the booking)
• arthritic and rheumatic complaints
• general muscular aches & pains
• RSI
• tennis elbow
• carpal tunnel syndrome
• sprains
• IBS and many other health concerns
Essential oils are often found to be very helpful in supporting the treatment of DIAGNOSED viral, fungal or bacterial infections, such as colds, glandular fever, athlete's foot, etc. However, any kind of massage during an infection such as the common cold is not advisable and steam inhalations and footbaths are usually the preferred option. Hot and cold leg compresses for oedema can be very effective and are also available during the aromatherapy treatment. Please ask for them when making the booking.

LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE
Within all of us there is a silent system working to keep us healthy – the lymphatic system. It is responsible for the removal of excess fluid, bacteria, viruses and waste products from the body. Gentle rhythmic strokes along the lymphatic vessels improve the flow of lymph and boost the immune system.
SWEDISH (relaxation) MASSAGE
A relaxing type of massage, encouraging blood circulation, increasing joint flexibility, reducing pain and relieving everyday stresses, tension and headaches. This type of massage is especially suited for stress relief.
TRIGGER POINT THERAPY
Trigger points are small, hypersensitive areas located in body tissues, which are prone to spasms. Deactivating these points through direct pressure is helpful in the management of headaches and pain in general. The therapy is usually incorporated into a remedial massage session, but every treatment can be tailored to your individual needs.
