About Your Practitioner

Maria Vukusic

Maria graduated from Remedial Massage and an Advanced Diploma of Oriental Health Science majoring in Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Nutrition and Lifestyle Management.
She also enhanced her knowledge in Pregnancy Care from doing a 6 months Doula course.
She has 6 years experience in the industry and is practicing from a clinic in Bondi and are also available for Mobile services.

Remedial Massage

It holistically treats the whole body and traces the discomfort back to the original cause. Firm techniques are being used to clear up the knots and tension as it also supports and speeds up the body's own repair mechanisms. So you quicker can go back to your lifestyle.


Deep Tissue Massage

It focuses on to reach the deeper layers of muscle tissue specifically the individual muscle fibers, the technique is slow with deep pressure to the muscle. Deep Tissue assists in mobility of muscle and corrects body posture.

I have found this technique being very effective together with Acupressure, as the release of knots in muscle is quicker and therefore gives a faster release of any discomfort.

Pregnancy Massage

Is a wonderful experience to receive for the mother and the baby. For further bonding, any leg cramps, hip and/ or sciatica pain, edema, neck/shoulder tension. The stress levels are also reduced with deep relaxation that improves the process throughout for you and the baby towards labor for mother to be and feel relaxed.
From week 36, Aroma Therapy Oils are included. The oil blend helps to increase the endorphin hormone which will give your muscles a deeper relaxation.

Massage & Acupuncture Combination

Deep Relaxation, Massage for your body and Acupuncture for your mind. Recommended for Stress, Tiredness, Poor Sleep and Relaxation.

Muscular tension, Remedial Massage is given together with Dry Needling within the treatment. This gives a more specific muscular tension release, as needles are placed in specific pressure points working deeper in releasing the pain and tension felt in the muscle.

Pregnancy Care

Pregnancy & Birth Preparation

Acupuncture has been shown to be of great benefit during pregnancy, by keeping your health in balance and to its optimum it will provide support for you and the baby throughout the pregnancy.

Acupuncture during Pregnancy can treat;
Breach/ Posterior – Carpal Tunnel Syndrome – Nausea – Constipation – Fatigue Anemia – Insomnia – Anxiety – Depression – Sinusitis – Induction

Preparation for birth with Acupuncture from week 36, this helps to soften/ripen and relax the cervix and to open the pelvis to provide blood and energy flow in area. Statistics have shown by receiving Acupuncture for birth can shorten labor time and can minimize the overdue time.

Fertility Health Program

You will receive a personalized program that is designed for you.

This is done with - Acupuncture - Nutrition - Exercise - Herbs

By bringing these together, we will give you a complete treatment that will enhance and provide support for your body & mind in preparation for conception. The preparation is recommended for 3 months, this gives good time to prepare and strengthen your body for conception.

Couple's Acu Birth Course

The preparation course is beneficial for couples as together you will learn techniques and receive information which will further involve the partner with some hands on knowledge for pre-labour and birth.

Acupressure Points – We will go through the points that will assist you during pre-labour and for contractions.

Booklet – Of pressure points with easy guide lines will be given to you.

Receive – Massage Aroma oil blend that will assist you in pre-labour and for relaxation.

Acupuncture

What to expect on your first Acupuncture visit

Acupuncture is the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body to influence the flow of qi through the body. The selected points chosen are best suited to address the concerns and symptoms you are experiencing and your individual qi imbalances (identified based on your medical history and examination).

The goal of acupuncture treatment is to restore balance to the qi of a person’s body. Restoring balance to the body’s qi allows the person’s body, mind, and spirit to heal and can resolve the symptoms and concerns for which the person has sought treatment.

We specialize holistically by incorporating Nutrition, Herbal Medicine and Life Style Advice with Acupuncture into the treatment, for healthy maintenance and well being.

How many treatments you would need depend on the condition, Acute can be resolved with 1-2 treatments and Chronic up to 5 treatments is recommended for result.

Chinese Herbal formulas are developed to address not only the symptoms for which a person is seeking treatment, but to address the root, or cause of the symptoms as well.
