SERVICES
COUNSELLING
Counselling offers you a chance to explore and unlock your feelings. You will learn how to express feelings in a confident caring way so that you feel good about yourself. You learn how to create, happier more meaningful relationships and to find new ways to work things out.
You will have the opportunity to discover new perspectives and learn to find workable solutions. Counselling is a place to talk, understand more about yourself, make changes in your life or come to terms with things that cannot be changed.
I work with adults and children incorporating a range of therapies that include Cognative Behaviour Therapy, Behaviour Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, drawing therapy, Art and play, as well as sand play therapy. Together we work on emotional release, anger management, time management as well as personality testing.
Counselling is a proactive process that requires the client to play an active part in resolving issues.

COUNSELLING IS FOR
Someone who is upset or distressed or has problems with feelings, thoughts, behaviour or relationships with others.
You may feel that life makes no sense or you lack direction.
You may have had a sudden life-crisis such as lost your job,
bereavement, or suffered major stress in your life.

NUTRITION
Nutrition is very closely linked to mental health. Our bodies use food as fuel for growth and daily activities. Our brain has high nutrient and energy needs. Therefore our daily nutrient and energy intake affects our mood, behaviour, and brain function. The Intake of energy and several different nutrients will influence levels of chemicals in the brain. These chemicals are called neurotransmitters. Neurotransmitters are responsible for transmitting nerve impulses from one nerve cell to another; they also influence mood, sleep patterns, and thinking. Excesses or deficiencies of certain vitamins or minerals can impair nerves in the brain, causing changes in memory, limiting problem-solving ability, and impairing brain function. A persons overall intake of energy through nutrients (proteins, carbohydrates, and fats), alcohol, vitamins and minerals are factors that can influence mental health. The deficiencies of multiple nutrients are usually responsible for changes in brain function. Improving your nutrition can also improve your mental function.

TUTORING
In my tutoring sessions I help students (adults and children) to work through reading, writing and maths as well as self esteem, anger management, friendship and day to day issues that effect learning. We learn how to read and write, we do specific breathing exercises and use yoga techniques as well as brain gym. We learn how to relax, manage our time, build self esteem and move forward in a more confident manner.
