Being a professional Health Practitioner since 1996 I had the privilege to work with so many different people that I would like to say that I found a good balance in myself between my scientific knowledge and my people skills.
MASSAGE
Massage has proven itself to be very therapeutic in helping individuals continue to flow smoothly in this fast paced stressful environment. According to Newsweek Magazine (April 6, 1998) "Doctors have started prescribing massage to help patients manage stress and pain. Scientists are now finding that massage can reduce blood pressure, boost the immune system, dampen harmful stress hormones and raise mood-elevating brain chemicals such as serotonin."
An assessment before your treatment will help you decide what kind of treatment you want to choose.
Remedial / Deep tissue massage
This is a therapeutic treatment that helps to restore function to injured “soft tissues” (muscles, tendons and ligaments.)
This massage of the neck, shoulders, arms and back and legs also releases tension and stress. It is also a good means of reducing emotional stress.
Reflexology
Reflexology is a holistic complementary therapy, treating the whole person, rather than just a symptom. Reflexology is usually done on the feet, but also on the hands. Both your hands and feet are linked to various parts of the body by a countless number of nerve endings. By massaging the feet (or hands) energy pathways become unblocked thus it has a healing effect.
Full body Swedish massage
A smooth flowing style that promotes general relaxation, it works on nerves close to the skin and improves circulation. It is excellent for pampering or for newcomers to massage.
Pregnancy Massage
Pregnancy is a very special time in a woman’s life. The perception of self and life is different, senses heightened. For some women it is the first time that they get in contact with their body on a deeper level.
A mum myself, one who had a beautiful pregnancy and a natural birth of a now 18 year old, I want to make sure that mother and baby get the nurturing and support they need when having a massage with me. – using the belly pillow, designed for the pregnant woman.
The “belly pillow” allows you to lie on your front, eases pressure on your back and lets you have a massage throughout your whole pregnancy.
A massage:
- Soothes the nervous system – very beneficial for relaxing
- Relieves oedema or swelling by stimulating circulation throughout the body
- Helps to prevent insomnia, muscle cramps and back pain, leaving you feeling deeply relaxed, centered and energized!!
Bowen Therapy
Bowen Therapy is a homeopathic approach to bodywork, performed through a series of gentle rolling moves applied to muscles, tendons and nerves.
Some specific benefits of Bowen Therapy may include:
- Improved circulation (blood, lymph, energy)
- Improved nerve function
- Release of tension (physical and emotional)
Reiki
Reiki is a natural form of healing therapy. It is applied through non-invasive gentle touch. This form of therapy aims to increase energy levels and promote relaxation and well-being. The underlying philosophy of Reiki is that if a person’s ‘life force energy’ is low, they are more likely to be unwell or stressed. If it is high, however, they are more capable of being happy and feeling well. Reiki will not cure illnesses or disease but it may help your body to heal itself.
Dorn Method
Dorn Method is a non manipulative spinal adjustment technique.

QUALIFICATION DETAILS- Pharmacist assistant (emphasis on herbalism)
- Remedial Massage Therapist
- Reflexologist
- Bowen Therapy
- Satyananda Yoga Teacher
Studying pharmacy in Germany with a more in depth focus on herbalism and homeopathy combined with an in depth study of anatomy and physiology was just the beginning of my career in the field of health. I very quickly moved away from traditional pharmacy as such as I was more than anything interested in healthy lifestyle and prevention of disease. I was very fortunate to have met at that time of search - " There must be more to learn than what I study in pharmacy" - my Yoga teacher who taught in the Satyananda tradition. I started studying and practicing Yoga as well as massage and reflexology, which truly enriched my purely scientific studies of pharmacy, as it gave me an understanding of the connection of the physical and emotional body.
When I arrived in Australia in 1998 I was asked to teach Yoga in the Yoga Center 90km outside of Sydney.
Between 2005 and 2007 I was a teacher and Yoga teacher in Alice Springs as well as massage therapist at the Alice Springs Sports Physiotherapy Clinic. There I did deep tissue massages as well as relaxation massages and reflexology. I massaged people of all ages with very needs and also was very popular with my pregnancy massages.
