About Richard
His approach with massage
Richard Turner undertook his massage training at the Hunter Institute of TAFE NSW, graduating from the 2 year full-time Diploma of Remedial Massage with Distinction. He has 8 years of experience as a massage therapist.
Specialising in relaxation, stress and anxiety relief, Richard endeavours to slowly soothe and unwind the body so that the mind, emotions and spirit can follow. This approach often leads a massage recipient into states of deep peace and increased awareness of themself. He aims to assist clients in achieving their optimal well being through an increasing respect and connection with their physical body. This can facilitate healthier life choices from a holistic viewpoint.
Having studied Remedial massage under experienced teachers, Richard has the ability to help with specific physical issues, repetitive strain syndromes, postural difficulties or acute injuries.
He also is particularly aware that some individuals prefer a very firm, deep tissue massage treatment and can easily tailor his techniques to accommodate this preference.
In relation to psychology, massage is a useful tool in moving through psychological and emotional issues that can build up in the physical body. As such, it can be a practical and important companion to psychology consultations.
Richard is also a Reiki Master, Vipassana meditator and graduate of Satyananda Yoga Academy Yogic Studies 1A. He often employs these teachings and energetic techniques during massage to assist the process of the work.
Massage sessions are provided solely by Richard Turner. Whether you are looking for pure relaxation, or remedial work, he employs a variety of techniques to understand and suit your needs.
As Richard is a fully qualified Remedial Massage Therapist and a member of The Association Of Massage Therapists, you may receive private health fund rebates. Please check your level of cover with your provider.

Richard Turner and Saraswati have been creating spiritual chant music together since 2006. They lead regular Kirtan (the singing of melodious mantra accompanied by live music) gatherings where participants can sing, play percussion instruments, dance and meditate. They believe that chanting can help us to achieve higher awareness and deeper exploration of the Self. Their gatherings often cleanse the environment, generate great joy and exhilaration; leaving participants with an open heart and a tangible feeling of inner peace.
The practice of Kirtan can give rise to blissful states, and is one of the methods by which Bhakti or transcendental love is brought forth. This allows one to easily go beyond the rational mind and move into the realm of spirit. Adding the power of mantra and music with the emotional aspect of our being gives rise to a great force. This force is infinite and can truly transform your life… and even quiet the busiest of minds.

She has since worked with trauma survivors, children with anxiety, injured workers, and general population groups interested in personal growth. Her career has involved providing training and supervision to medical professionals. Currently specialising in Yogic Psychology and Physiology, Saraswati combines these ancient systems with modern science to provide a balanced psychology that can enrich our lives and calm our busy minds.
