TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a complete medical system employing acupuncture, herbal medicine, and lifestyle changes to treat disease and maintain a sense of vitality and wellbeing.
It looks at the body on an energetic and holistic level and teaches that “health can be maintained and disease prevented by maintaining the body in a balanced state”.
ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture is the insertion of sterile needles (on average 0.18mm thick) into defined acupoints on the body. This promotes the movement of qi (your bodies energy), strengthens weakness and reduces excesses bringing the body back into balance and promoting the natural healing response.
It is a safe, effective, drug free treatment that has gain wide spread acceptance in the medical field, including formal recognition by the World Health Organization who now recommends acupuncture as a sucessful treatment for infertility.
HERBAL TREATMENT
Chinese herbal medicine is an effective treatment for a wide range of health conditions and with little to no side effects it is safe to take during pregnancy and lactation. Chinese herbal medicine is based on a rich body of knowledge developed over thousands of years of clinical practise, and more recently, clinical laboratory research. It also assists with general health maintenance, wellbeing and disease prevention by enhancing normal body functions and strengthening the immune system.

ABOUT ALASTAIR
B.BAppSc (Chinese Medicine)
BAppSc (Human Biology)
Clinical Internship (JiangSu Provincial Hospital, China)
Alastair found his way to Chinese Medicine through a passion to help those around him regain health and balance in their lives. That passion is now grounded in a commitment to the Chinese Medicine art form and extends to each patient he sees.
Alastair completed his degree in both Chinese Medicine and Human Biology at RMIT University. During and after that time he developed a firm interest in Chinese Medicines ability to enhance fertility for both genders.
As Alastair’s clinical experience grew he found himself drawn more and more to the treatment of male fertility and sexual function. His understanding of male health and Chinese Medicine has allowed him to successfully treat many related conditions.
Alastair recognises that health is a very important and personal issue. As such, unfortunately one approach to treatment never fits all. Looking at each patient as an individual with individual requirements allows Alastair to develop a holistic, tailor made treatment.
His relaxed but professional and understanding approach immediately put patients at ease. This allows those he treats to regain their former vitality and health goals in a way that is a purely positive experience.
While completing an internship in Nanjing China at one of the country’s most well regarded hospitals Alastair learnt from a wide range of specialists. Many of these teachings gave him valuable insight and ability to provide successful treatments both here in Melbourne and rural India.
Alistair is heavily involved in the charity organization Traditional Healthcare who provides Chinese Medicine treatments in remote villages in India. His experiences with them provided an intensely sharp learning curve as a practitioner, and fostered the desire to utilise Chinse Medicine in the development of the greater community both locally and abroad.
