Naturopathy is a holistic approach for the treatment of physical, mental or emotional imbalances, assessing your individual constitution to find the primary causes for these imbalances rather than solely treating the symptoms. The consultation can incorporate naturopathic analysis, iris analysis, dietary evaluation & lifestyle counselling. You may be prescribed a variety of therapies, including referral for other practitioners, massage, herbal medicine, nutrition, mineral therapy and flower essences as either alternative or complimentary to orthodox medicine.

Are you often prescribed a whole lot of expensive treatments or left still confused about what is actually going on inside your body and health?

At Chirinka there is an emphasis on your own self awareness about your body & health, spending the extra time needed to help you get empowered about your health goals. Only the best practitioner only remedies within budget are prescribed, without overprescribing as often seen in commercial clinics and health food stores.

If you have the time and inclination, I will also teach you to make your own remedies at home. There are small class workshops run throughout the year to help you feel empowered about yourself and your health.

We prescribe these herbs according to your individual needs, using whole dried herbs prepared in the same traditional ways of the shamans and healers of the Andes and the Amazon.

Traditional Lomi Lomi Massage & Kahuna Temple Massage

Hawaiian Ka Huna & Lomi Lomi is an empathic massage - the practitioner touches & treats the client with love, respect and compassion. It is a unique style where the practitioner may use their hands, forearms, elbows, fingers, feet, knees and natural tools like stones. It works by stimulating the natural flow of energy; balancing the physical, emotional & spiritual areas. It is deeply relaxing & rejuvenating, relieving stress and tension. It is excellent for improving immunity, increasing lymphatic and blood circulation, muscle tone & flexibility, detoxification, fluid retention, and to improve digestion.

Hot Stone Therapy & Massage

Katamasi is the application of hot volcanic basalt stones or crystals along the body either by placement or as a massage tool. Hot Stones can be placed along specific trigger points & muscles in need of heat and relaxation, or can be placed along meridian lines & chakra points. They can also be used in conjuction with any massage to increase the effect of the massage; to add heat to tired muscles, increase further blood/lymph circulation and flow of energy, or used as a hot massage tool for deep tissue massage. Hot Stone Therapy is deeply stimulating massage for the body whilst relaxing the mind. Katamasi / Hot Stone Therapy works best with Lomi Lomi and Kahuna Massage

Swedish Relaxation Massage

Massage uses gentle manipulations applied to the body to reduce stress, fatigue, exhaustion and anxiety. Massage can rejuvenate your energy levels, increasing your blood flow and thereby allows your body to provide itself with oxygen and nutrition. And all this whilst being in a state of total bliss and relaxation.

Seichim

Seichim (pronounced Say keem or Say sheem) is an ancient and sacred form of hands on healing that originated from Ancient Egyptian & Ancient Mayan techniques. It is thought to be the origin of all hands on healing techniques.

The hands on nature of the technique is shown through the hieroglyph Sekhem, that translates to mean “the power of powers”, appearing as two upraised hands.

Seichim aims to balance the body’s polarities and energy systems, thus allowing the optimal natural healing of both mind and spirit. Seichim healing is often used in combination with other healing modalities, such as massage, other forms of Reiki, or even naturopathy.

Can I get private health cover rebates?

All naturopathic, nutrition, Herbal Medicine and Andean & Amazon Medicine consultation are eligible for rebates. Check with your health fund for details.

Who can get concessions?

Concessions include Full time students, pensioners and Health care card holders.

What can I expect from a Naturopathic consultation?

The initial visit here is a one and a half hour consultation.

The naturopath will take a thorough case history. This includes an exploration of current and past health conditions, as well as diet, lifestyle, stress and environmental factors.

A naturopathic physical examination is conducted using naturopathic analysis techniques such as iridology, tongue and nail analysis. You may also be referred for further tests.

A treatment plan is then individually designed using dietary recommendations and lifestyle counselling. Herbal medicines and nutritional supplements may also be prescribed. You and the naturopath work as a team, working together and actively participating in the naturopathic process.

Our goal is for you to be aware of yourself and your body’s needs and be able to ‘heal thyself’ achieving an optimal state of health.

Follow up consultations are a review of current treatment and continued education and support, usually taking usually 30mins to an hour. The second appointment is where you receive a copy of your individual report & plan.

What should I bring to a Consultation?

Please bring along any herbs, supplements, or prescribed medication that you are currently taking.

Please bring any recent medical tests including blood tests, X-rays.

You may wish to bring along anything you think effects your health, or anything that may aid in your assessment or treatment.

This could include diet diaries, journals, etc.

What to expect from a massage treatment

Generally, massage appointments are a part of a naturopathic treatment plan. Occasionally, a massage appointment may be purely relaxational and not require a naturopathic appointment at Chirinka. Please let us know if it your first appointment with me- as I like to spend an extra 10 - 15 mins with you for a short complimentary consultation. During this time, I will gather some information from you so we can tailor the massage to your individual health and relaxation needs. This way I can give you massage that is the best it can be, without taking time away from the treatment itself.

The treatments can vary according to your needs, and these will be discussed during your naturopathic appointment or massage appointment. Your expectations would be discussed during this time as well, as to the requirements and goals for the treatments.

After any massage, I may also suggest certain stretches, exercises, diet & lifestyle advice, or other techniques to help you get the most from your experience and treatment.
