Christina Nielsen is a Holistic Therapist who has been in continuous practice since the 1970’s. During this time she has continued to learn, study and deepen her understanding of the human condition in health and illness in a holistic paradigm.
She has a clinical practice where her mind-body approach uses a range of therapies. She is the founder of the Metavision Institute where she teaches Applied Holistic Counselling and Psychotherapy, Metavision and QiSophia.
The Holistic Practitioner
A holistic practitioner is charged with the task of being present to one’s own process, while simultaneously facilitating the unfolding, emerging process of the client. This apprehension of process requires simultaneous emptiness and presence, and an ability to be participant and observer, artist and analyst and to entrain both head and hearts intelligence.
This work leaves the shores of the known and familiar and enters the uncharted waters of incoherence and chaos, to discover new emergent developmental pathways. Through this journey, client and practitioner become active participants in the creation of their own evolution.
Holistic Counselling and Psychotherapy attends to both body and soul awareness.
Integral to this holistic approach is body/somatic awareness. Somatic experience is used to process information from self awareness, relationship issues, to trauma and unfolding the messages in illness and body symptoms.
A holistic approach into Counselling and Psychotherapy stands on the shoulders of many great thinkers. The work of Arnold Mindell who’s Process Oriented Psychology has arisen out of the depth psychology of Carl Jung and Quantum Physics. Further the spiritual insights of Rudolf Steiner are deeply integrated into the understanding of the human condition and its evolution.

Christina Nielsen's Biography
Healing and educating are my life long calling. As I become aware of to today’s global crisis where the possibility that life itself is hanging in the balance, I wish to make a contribution towards change and healing. Our global crisis can be a source of tremendous apathy and despair, or an opportunity, a catalyst for a massive planetary shift towards a new consciousness of connectedness and co-operation. I have found from my work in healing and education that growth in personal awareness has a ripple effect and is a powerful way to bring real change.
Therefore personal transformation that embraces new awareness of wholeness and subtle energies brings with it the potential to create unprecedented whole-systems planetary change.
My Story
As a child I breathed in the beauty and living reality of an interconnected world of nature. It became my inspiration and my solace. Now as I look back over my life’s path, I see it has also been my guide towards synthesis, interconnection and wholeness where unseen forces move the manifest world of matter.
For Holistic therapy (central to all my work) to carry the impulse of healing needed in our times of isolation, separation and exploitation, I have found it essential to heal the mind/ body split. This split has been carefully cultivated by our scientific paradigm in the medical and psychological main stream professions for a long time. Essential to healing this split, soul (originally synonymous with psyche) as an activity, not an entity, must be restored to its place of importance. Soul enlivenment breathes life into body awareness and interiority to spiritual knowing. The healing impulse needed in our times is towards soul consciousness. This links each one of us with our own journey principal (our individual essence) with the planet and with our global community. Soul consciousness can act like a sense that links the intelligence of the head with that of the heart thereby healing the mind/body split.
The central search for holism running though my life has shaped what I have chosen to study and develop. From my early dissatisfaction with Social Work I turned to Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Spiritual Science of a Western esoteric tradition and Process Oriented Psychology (Mindell). These have helped to integrate eastern and western streams and overcome the mind/ body split. The Quantum Mind work of Arnold Mindell and associates have introduced me to Quantum Physics and the new sciences arising from Quantum Physics. The new science brings a scientific understanding of subtle energy and forces which underpins and supports holism and interconnection of all of existence, fundamentally challenging the old Newtonian based science paradigm and countering the reductionist material view that created the split. Support from the new science for what I know and experience from my work and study over many years is exciting and confirming.
The ever increasing number of voices who are calling for change to our dominant culture’s way of thinking and behaving give me courage to also stand up and speak out. I wish to be part of the change that honours the mystery of life, the human spirit and the return of the wisdom of Sophia and Gaia, our living earth.
