SERVICES Myotherapy can reduce pain and ease tension from postural fatigue, after excercise or injury
Modalities
Remedial Massage
Treatment begins with postural assessment and history taking to identify contibutory factors and possible contraindications. The aim is to restore the length tension relationship within the soft tissue structures of the body (muscles, tendons, liagaments and fascia) and commonly to reduce pain. Lymphatic Drainage & Pregnancy Massage also available
Myotherapy
Myotherapy can help with many conditions that cause pain, discomfort and postural imbalance. I specialise in headaches/neck pain, Carpal Tunnel syndrome & Tennis Elbow. Treatment is applied using techniques such as cupping, dry needling, myofascial release, and assisted stretches.
Cupping
Cupping uses suction instead of pressure to release trigger points and myofascial adhesions. It can also be very helpful in the treatment of scar tissue. There may be skin discolouration which is reduced by using gliding technique.
Dry Needling
Very fine (filament) needles are inserted into the skin and trigger points in muscles. This stimulates a twitch response and then a release in the muscles fibres followed by massage to lengthen the tissue. The dry needling process may also replicate symptotms in terms of referred pain/altered sensation.
Myofascial Release
Myofascial Release Is a technique that is applied where tension in the fascia, that covers every muscle in the body, becomes tight and causes imbalance.
