About Lee
The real difference is in getting to the bottom of the problem.- pinpointing and removing the ongoing cause of a mechanical problem; and
<- helping to prevent it occurring again
Appointments with Lee:
During a visit with Lee, the whole history of your health problem is assessed.
This makes it much easier to find the quickest and most thorough way to getting better, by looking at all layers of your particular health problem, such as:- current medical history
- other symptoms you have which might till now have seemed unrelated
- past medical, operative and traumatic history
This includes:- detailed explanations of findings
- education about your body and your health problem,
- things you can do to help yourself get better and help prevent it coming back, such as: REAL ergonomic advice, posture, stretching, exercises and referalls where necessary.
It is important to Lee to quickly sort out how much of the problem is mechanical, how much can be helped with osteopathy and whether or not a referral to another type of health practitioner is necessary - this practice operates on a philosophy of efficiency.
Keeping you informed of the relevance of your problem to Osteopathy and the status of your progress (at the beginning and throughout treatment) is a key to getting you better sooner.
About Osteopathy
Osteopaths look for the cause of the problem and not just the symptoms.
Finding the real cause of the pain means quicker recovery and better long term results.
Mechanical problems, or symptoms that are caused by mechanical problems in the body, are what Osteopaths can help with.
Osteopaths look at the whole body. All the parts of the body effect each other because they are controlled by a main regulating system.
Understanding the complex way all the parts work together is how osteopaths find the real mechanical cause of the problem.
Learning about the cause of pain in your own body helps free you from ongoing problems. You are able to make changes yourself and expect no more surprises.
Too many times, small, easily fixed problems are left untreated. Over time they become painful, cost more money and eat through more of your time.
Often old problems create new ones, therefore your history is important in making the right diagnosis.
Not all problems causing pain are mechanical. If on screening, it appears that your problem is not mechanical, then the osteopath will promptly recommend the best path for you.
Wholistic health care involves assessing many levels/ areas of health to help detect which aspects of health are the major cause of problems for you. Referring you to the best person who can help outside of Osteopathy is an integral part of practice.
Please contact the clinic for any further information regarding your case.
