Maureen Wong is a friendly and professional acupuncturist based in St. Leonards and Crows Nest. She treats a variety of conditions ranging from back, neck, shoulder and leg pain, migraines and arthritis to anxiety and stress. She has a special interest in fertility for women who find conception difficult. She also works with induction to help the mother have a natural, drug-free birth. Maureen can help with getting the baby into the perfect birthing position from breach or other difficult positions.
The first session involves an in-depth consultation exploring all possible sources of discomfort, followed by a relaxing treatment of acupuncture.

The following treatments are often used by Maureen during an acupuncture session:
Electro acupuncture
This is the practice of attaching an electrical device to a pair of needles in order to generate an electrical pulse between them. It is particularly effective for treating pain.
Cupping
Cupping has been practiced for thousands of years and is used to move qi and blood stasis. It is particularly useful in the treatment of back pain or pain in the muscles.
Energy healing
This is done by the practitioner using her hands over an affected area with the intention of sending in healing energy. It is a very effective method of treatment and is often used in conjunction with other techniques.
Deep Heat
This is the practice of using infrared heat to penetrate to areas of the body that may be cold or deficient.
Brazilian Toe Hold
This is an energy exchange which helps to clear and balance the meridians. It is very uplifting.
Other Treatments
Reflexology
is a wonderful treatment which Maureen uses, mainly on the feet, to balance the body and uplift the spirits. The feet are like little 'maps' of the body and have points which represent all the organs, tissues and parts of the body. By reflexing these points you can improve the wellbeing of the whole body.
Massage
Maureen is also trained in massage and particularly uses a gentle lymph drainage massage suitable for elderly, frail or young patients for relaxation and wellbeing. The lymphatic system is the 'garbage disposal' of the body and helps to eliminate toxins.
Ear candling
Is a great way to relax and calm the system. It helps to clear wax and other blockages from the ears, sinuses and eustachian tubes. Candling leaves the person feeling warm, comforted and at ease.
Maureen’s clinic is in a comfortable, quiet, leafy venue with a nurturing atmosphere. It has disabled access.
There is free 2hr parking in adjoining streets, particularly Anglo Road when accessed from Greenwich Road. There is also 1 hr metered parking in front – on Pacific Hwy and in the Pacific Hwy end of Anglo Road.
