A doula is the ultimate support person for the pregnant woman, her partner and baby.
Vickie has many years experience in all types of birth and provides a high quality personal, caring and professional service. She uses tailor-made strategies to increase the comfort and confidence of parents including education, aromatherapy, guided meditation, music and Reiki.
Reiki is particularly valuable during pregnancy, it is safe, non-invasive, wonderfully relaxating, promotes healthy sleep and decreases anxiety associated with childbirth.
A typical Doula package includes -
• A minimum of four antenatal visits to your home, or mine of approximately 2 hours
• Assistance in writing a birth preferences document
• References for professional services and support
• Unlimited use of the extensive Confident Birth library
• Phone and email support during your pregnancy
• 24 hour on-call access for two weeks either side of your due date
• Continuous support during labour with no time restrictions
• Therapeutic grade oils, heat packs and all equipment needed for comfort during labour
• Experienced back-up doula
• Postnatal visits to assist with breastfeeding & parenting
• Photographs and detailed recording of events in a written birth story
Single appointments are held at the Confident Birth & WellBeing clinic and can be arranged for -
•Guided meditation and relaxation - a wonderful lead-up to birth and a great way to get through the anxious 'post date' days
•Assistance with preparation of a birth preferences document - if you don't know your options you don't have any - make sure your preferences are realistic and recognised
•Advice and coaching for birth partners - essential for those who want to make sure they have the right tools to assist a woman in labour
•Natural Induction - there are many gentle therapies that can be used to give baby a little nudge
•Pre or postnatal Reiki sessions - beautifully calming and guaranteed to reduce stress and speed recovery
•Postnatal debriefing - when you simply need to talk things through with someone who understands
•Birth Trauma counselling - can be combined with the healing power of natural therapies
•Miscarriage and still birth support
•Elective Cesarean preparation
•Complementary therapies for the whole family - Reiki, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Australian Bush Flower Essences

In addition to working with pregnant women, Vickie offers Reiki and aromatherapy treatments to anyone looking to improve their health and quality of life, through deep relaxation. Reiki creates many beneficial effects such as feelings of peace, security and wholeness. It is simple, natural and safe and will leave you feeling refreshed, relaxed and rejuvenated.
