TRANSPERSONAL ART THERAPY

Transpersonal Art Therapy is a holisitc approach that focuses on the well-being of the Body, Mind, Emotions and Soul / Spirit. It is an integrative therapy that unites both ancient and modern traditions, drawing from shamanism and psychology where the focus is on 'healing' rather than 'curing'.

Art Therapy supports you to connect with your Authenticity, the unique essence of who you are. By exploring feelings, thoughts and the hidden aspects of yourself, you can experience greater Self-Awareness and discover what is holding you back from realising your potential. You can also access your inner strengths and resources, empowering you to move forward in your life in the direction that feels right for you.

Depending on your individual needs, client-centred counselling and various Art Therapy processes may be incorporated into a session. This could include working with:

Drawing, Painting, Clay work, Collage, Mandala, Symbols, Dream work, Focusing, Myth, Ritual, Mask and Movement.

During a session Meditation may also be incorporated for relaxation, visualisation or as a method to access wisdom, resources, guidance or symbols.

There is no need for you to have had any prior experience with art in order for you to benefit from Art Therapy!

The focus in an Art Therapy session is on the creative process, rather than the finished product. The act of making art can be profound and healing in itself, however your artwork can also be explored through an 'amplification' process, where new insights and understanding can be discovered. In Transpersonal Art Therapy your artwork is not analysed, interpreted or judged.

There is no right or wrong way to make art!

REIKI

Reiki, a Japanese word meaning Universal Life Force Energy, is a gentle yet powerful, safe and non-obtrusive natural healing system that enhances and supports your own natural healing ability.

The state of relaxation that you experience during and after a Reiki session provides the optimum state for healing to occur. The Reiki energy flows to the places where it is needed most and with the amount that is right for you in order to bring your being into balance and harmony.

Reiki is a holistic treatment that can be effective on the levels of the Body, Mind, Emotions and Spirit.

During a Reiki session the practitioner will place their hands on or above your body in a series of positions, while you remain fully clothed.

While receiving Reiki you may experience the Reiki energy as a range of sensations that could include: tingling, warmth, coolness, energy moving, pulsing, vibrations, colours. You may also experience a sense of physical or emotional release.

A Reiki session is usually a deeply relaxing and peaceful experience. Benefits can also be experienced afterwards, such as feelings of well-being, calm, or improved sleep.

Reiki compliments and enhances many other healing modalities, including traditional medical treatments.

The practice of Meditation can be described as being a discipline of the mind, where your attention is focused upon a single point - such as the breath, a Mantra, sensations, or an object. ABOUT AMY

After experiencing the personal benefits that different natural therapies had to offer, beginning with Reiki, Yoga and Meditation, Amy was drawn to learn more about the healing arts. She studied at various healing institutions in Sydney including Nature Care College, The Earth (now Awareness) Institute, and the College of Complementary Medicine where she found that Transpersonal Art Therapy was a natural integration of her passions for both Art and Healing. Amy has had a life-long interest in the creative arts, particularly painting, drawing and photography, she has also completed a Bachelor Fine Arts at UNSW.

Amy offers a non-judgemental and safe space that can support you to connect with your strengths and inner resources with the possibility of opening to transformation, growth and the ability to live your life from a place of greater Well-being.
