Acupuncture
Japanese style acupuncture is both gentle and effective. By using very fine, flexible needles and subtle stimulation, the body is able to relax into the treatment making activation of the acupuncture points easier and allows for better flow of the Qi & Blood through the body.
Evidence based treatment protocols based on classical acupuncture theory has been shown to treat a range of disorders & diseases, supported by research published by The World Health Organisation.
Moxibustion
This soothing heat therapy uses the refined fibre from the Mugwort herb to warm the tissues and acupuncture points increasing Qi & Blood flow.
A phytochemical in the plant stimulates a change in blood chemistry attracting the body's “clean up cells” to the area to remove the hardened cellular debris which traps metabolic wastes causing the tight crunchy knots.
It is particularly effective for use in supporting female fertility & turning breech babies ( American Journal of Chinese Medicine , Winter, 2001, Yoichi Kanakura, et al. )
Massage
Traditional Chinese Remedial Massage is firm deep tissue therapy which softens & stretches out tight muscles, correcting structural imbalances and releasing tension from the body.
Moderate use of natural liniments soak into the tissues help continue flushing fresh Blood & Fluids through the muscles after the treatment. You won't leave covered in oil.
Herbs
Herbal formula sourced from China's classical herbal medicine texts are used to this day all over the world & are able to be prescribed to support the treatments when required.
About Us
David Ballantyne
David has graduated from the Bachelor of Acupuncture Health Science at the Australian College of Natural Medicine and has a degree in Biomedical Science from Monash University. He is certified in Traditional Chinese Remedial Massage & is a registered member of the Australian Traditional Medicine Society.
Appointments are one on one where you can be sure to have David's full attention for the entire time to adjust the treatment as your body responds. He has trained in both Japanese & Chinese acupuncture techniques, employing the best from both styles to suit the individual.
The treatments utilised are derived from traditional clinical strategies & evidence based protocols to address an array of disorders as researched by The World Health Organisation.
