BOWEN THERAPY Is a remedial body technique. Bowen balances the physical, mental and emotional planes. A vibrational energy therapy that is gentle, relaxing and safe to use on anyone from newborns to the elderly. The treatment involves sequences of small gentle moves, a cross fibre rolling of muscle and tendon over acupoints and trigger points along the meridian energy system, retrieving cellular memory of the body's preferred balanced way of being. Bowen produces an integrated body response, and consequently improves circulation, lymphatic and venous draining, assimilation of nutrients and elimination of toxins and improved joint mobility. Bowen Therapy addresses the body as a whole unit and the cause of problems rather than just the presenting symptoms.Treatment can be performed on the skin or through light clothing if preferred.

The Bowen Technique helps the body remember how to heal itself. The gentle yet powerful Bowen moves send neurological impulses to the brain resulting in immediate responses of muscle relaxation and pain reduction. The moves create energy surges. The electrical impulses sent to the nervous system remind the body to regain movement in joints, muscles and tendons. This helps relieve muscle spasms and increase lymph flow.
It affects the body primarily through the nervous and bioenergetic systems to bring it into a state of balance.

The autonomic nervous system controls over 80% of bodily functions (cardiac, respiratory, peripheral circulation, reproductive, endocrine, gastrointestinal) and is very susceptable to stress and emotional tensions. For healing to happen, the body needs to shift from sympathetic dominance( fear, rage fight, flight or freeze mode) to parasympathetic ( vegetative mode) dominance. This requires time and space to relax, unwind and digest physical and emotional stress. Bowen Therapy can help faciitate these shifts.

Most Bowen moves are done either at the origin, insertion or the belly of muscles where the Golgi and Spindle nerve receptors are located. These receptors inform the nervous system of the state of tension, length or stretch in the muscles and tendons and are stimulated during the rolling part of the Bowen movement.

All moves are done around a joint directly affect the joint and ligaments, which are richly innervated with proprioceptors, those nerves that sense the position of your body.

The Bowen Technique stimulates lymphatic circulation and drainage,

Many of the Bowen moves are performed along the spine over the Erector muscles, which produced referred reactions to other parts of the body.

The Fascia, sheets of connective tissue , connect everything in the body: muscles, bones, internal organs and central nervous system. They play a major role in muscle coordination, flexibility, postural allignment and overall structural and functional integrity. The Bowen moves free the relationship between the fascia and the nerve, muscle or tendon being addressed.

Bowen Therapy stimulates circulation of energy and clears energetic blocks. Several of the moves are located along acupuncture meridians or on specific acupuncture points which are know to stimulate and balance the body's energy.

Some people feel shifts in their bodies during and after a Bowen session. is important to drink ample water after treatment and to rest a while to allow integration.

While many experience immediate pain improvement., for others it unfolds over a few days to a week. Chronic conditions may require more regular treatments. It

    KINESIOLOGY

    Standard consult $90.00

Einstein said " NOTHING HAPPENS UNTIL IT MOVES"

KINESIOLOGY works by bringing memories and emotions from a cellular level and the subconscious mind to the conscious mind, helping you understand your relationship with your history and your future and why all of your power is in your now. Your emotions are the representatives of your guidance system, they show you where you are with respect to your goals or intentions. The way you feel is an indicator of your access to your energy and allignment with your intentions.

Kinesiology uses Manual Muscle Testing as a tool to identify these memories and emotions. It tests the function of the muscles, which in turn reflect the body's overall state of physical, mental, emotional and biochemical balance. Assessing flows of energy within the body that relate not only to the muscles, but to every tissue and organ that make the body a living being. Combined with principles of Chinese medicine and the Acupuncture concept of meridian and energy flow, you are observed wholistically, rather than a collection of symptoms.

Ultimately, Kinesiology relies upon the muscle feedback system that measures how the nervous system controls its muscle functions and the channels of the brain and body. In this way, it helps move the body into a better position to heal itself or reach a specified goal by 'balancing" its energies.
Kinesiology does not treat named diseases nor does it diagnose them. It is concerned with balancing imbalances in the body's energy.
This balance is restored structurally, biochemicaly and emotionally through a range of non-invasive and gentle techniques involving acupressure; neuro-emotional; neuro-lymphatic; and neuro-vascular point stimulation.
Flower essences; tissue salts, vitamins, suppliments and nutritional advice may be recommended. Visualization, colour, sound and crystal therapy may be used.

At the end of the session, the client may feel nothing, feel profoundly relaxed, feel an internal shift but be unable to articulate this difference. For a few days after there may be unusual sensations, aches and pains, extreme tiredness or lots of energy. All of these are good signs. Additionally it often occurs that the client recognises subtle changes in the circumstances of their life and this may occur weeks or even months after the session.

This work is subtle but very effective over time. It is important that a client rest after a session to allow the body to integrate the energetic shifts within. It is also important to drink ample water.

    TBM. TOTAL BODY MODIFICATION
Total Body Modification (TBM) is an advanced kinesiological technique that evaluates, rebalances and resets energy imbalances found in the organs and functions of the body that require resolution before an individual can achieve true health. It identifies the imbalances using the technique of muscle testing, and corrects the problem by restoring balance to the nervous system by stimulating reflex points located along the spine.

    How Does TBM Work?

Where traditional Chiropractic techniques are used to correct the structure of body to enhance its function, TBM sets out to correct the functional physiology, which in itself improves the body's structure.

The various components of the nervous system are all controlled by the brain. Like a computer, sensory nerve fibres deliver messages to the brain, which in turn interprets them before instructing body parts via motor fibres what to do next.

The neurons (nerve cells) located in the centre of the brain are responsible for controlling individual body parts. When a body part is put under stress, so too are the corresponding neurons which depolarise. As a result, the brain receives the message, but no instruction is returned from the brain to the organ. This leads to a consequent loss in control over the affected body part or organ.

A TBM practitioner can identify and rectify the problem by the combined use of muscle testing and stimulation of specific reflex points along the spine corresponding to various body parts/ systems. An instrument or a hand itself is used to make the corrections, and your practitioner may also give you small vials to hold while performing a manual muscle test. This will allow them to identify any allergens or chemical stressors specific to your health.

In stimulating the specific areas of the spine in a set way, the damaged neurons of the brain are repolarized, allowing the brain to regain control over affected body part. This removes any roadblocks to recovery the individual may have been experiencing, restoring the function of their nervous system allowing optimum health.

    Benefits of TBM

TBM may be used to treat the symptoms of:
    Medication side effects
    Chronic Fatigue
    Viruses including colds and flu
    Lupus
    Infertility
    Arthritis,
    Joint and back problems
    Gallstones

    Diabetes and glaucoma.
Other benefits TBM has to offer include:
    Restored organ function
    Equalised blood pressure
    Relief of chronic pain
    Enhanced digestion
    Increased circulation
    Stabilisation of sugar metabolism
Improvement of water and protein metabolism
Increased general immunity, including resistance to viruses, bacteria and parasites.

  • ACUPRESSURE MASSAGE Is an oriental based system of gentle finger pressure massage that treats points along energy channels or meridians, aiming to release discomfort by rebalancing the body’s energy flows.

REFLEXOLOGY MASSAGE Is based on the principle that congestion or tension in any part of the foot mirrors congestion or tension in a corresponding part of the body. These parts, known as reflex points can also be found on the hands and other body parts.
