The overwhelming demands of every day life can often impact on our well being, leaving us feeling fragmented and anxious, ultimately leading to a decline in our physical, mental and emotional health. Through the practice of meditation and classical energy techniques, we can help restore balance within ourselves.

Many people are unaware that the original system of Reiki has its roots in the energetic spiritual practices of Tendai and Shingon Buddhism and Shinto. The Classical Japanese System of Reiki is a complete spiritual discipline which includes specific energy meditations and techniques. These practices assist in focusing the mind, building healthy Ki (Life Force Energy) in the body and reconnect us to our original nature which is of the purest energy. This helps us to let go of anger and worry allowing us to develop our deeper spiritual qualities which support our well being. When we reconnect with our true essence we are able to expand this healing energy and extend it to others often experiencing within ourselves, a sense of wholeness or ‘Oneness.’ The traditional spiritual practice of the Usui System of Reiki is a return to our original cosmic nature.

These are the teachings and techniques which the Denju Centre passes onto you, giving an energetically strong, practical and insightful practice. In order to make these practices accessible to the public I have kept costs at the lower end of the scale. The Classical Art of Reiki is not a religion but a creative, spiritual set of tools for everyday living to improve quality of life through nurturing mind, body and spirit.

Traditional Japanese Reiki Treatments - $40 - duration 50 mins

A Traditional Reiki treatment is the ultimate way to spoil yourself. The recipient lies comfortably on the table while the practitioner rests hands on specific body areas, allowing the life force energy to go where it is most needed. The energy can be sensed in a variety of ways, tingling, a gentle vibration or soothing warmth. When the mind and body are allowed to wind down and enjoy this deep state of relaxation, some people experience visions, have clear insights into their own life or simply fall asleep as built up tension is finally released and balance restored. There are many benefits from a traditional Reiki treatment. * The deep relaxation of mind and body during a Reiki treatment allows the life force energy to flow more freely at maximum vibration. * Toxins and other waste products may be removed from our system much more effectively. * It is helpful therapeutically during illness, emotional trauma, injury and after surgery, often accelerating one’s own healing process and complementary to other medical procedures. * You don’t have to wait until you are sick. Having a Reiki treatment regularly can help you maintain balance, harmony and health in this fast moving world. * As far as relaxation goes, it is a great way to release tension and reconnect with your true nature. * For the terminally ill, Reiki can bring peace of mind and a sense of surrender.

Ki Relaxation – duration 30 mins - $25

Ki relaxation is an individual meditation/relaxation session using traditional Japanese energy techniques which assist in harmonising disturbances in the energy field. The person remains seated and initiates their own self healijng through working with the breath as mental focus. Once in a state of deep relaxation the individual is able to absorb what they need of the Reiki healing energy which stimulates the flow of their own life force energy, raising their vibration for improved well being and mental clarity. The practitioner’s hands are placed on the body and in the energy field. The individual usually experiences a deep relaxation response as the warmth of the healing energy flows through their entire being. Reiju (attunements) may also be performed during this session which helps to clear the meridians allowing the life force energy to flow more freely. Tibetan Singing Bowls are used to begin and end the session.

The Australian Bush Flower Essences

Available to assist the healing process. The vibrational quality of remedial plants assists with the emotional demands of everyday life. Individuaalised combinations may be done although many of the regular, standard combinations are available.

Their own lineage flows directly from traditional Japanese teachers and is ongoing, embracing the complete and original teachings and techniques of the Usui System of Healing.

Reiki Training

The manuals provided with each course are written by Frans and Bronwen Stiene, international authors and teachers, founders of the International House of Reiki and committed to the original teachings and techniques of the Usui System of Healing. It embraces the five elements which give a complete spiritual and energetic practice.

SHODEN – Beginner Teachings. Reiki Level One is usually run over two days or the equivalent of hours that best accommodates the student’s life schedule. The focus of level one is teaching the student how to practice healing the self. You will also learn meditations to assist you in your Reiki practice and the basic foundation of working on others. It is only the beginning of a journey of self discovery.
Included in the level one course is – * a student manual* your level one certificate* your lineage papers* Cost- $230

OKUDEN – Inner teachings

Reiki Level Two is held over one and a half days or the equivalent in hours which best suits the student’s life schedule and usually followed up by another short consolidating practice. During a level two course, the student learns three mantras and symbols which help them develop their relationship to their Earth, Heaven and Heart energy. That is the physical, mind and oneness energies. When these three energies are connected we find ourselves more balanced. Meditations are taught to assist and deepen your personal Reiki practice. From this level of training and practice one is better prepared to be a professional practitioner. There is recommended reading for this level. Options for retraining are also possible if you feel your previous training has been incomplete.
Included in the level two course is – * student manual* level two certificate* lineage papers* Cost $250 – new students (to cover costs of both level one and level two manuals.) Cost $220 – for students who already have the level one manual.

SHINPIDEN – Teacher level - Mystery teachings

Reiki level three is focused on personal development. It is also at this level that a student is taught how to perform attunements. Philosophical and universal understandings aid the student in expanding their awareness of their relationship to the universe and all that exists. Deeper meditations and techniques support this expansion. This can be a personal life practice for your own journey. It is possible to become a Reiki teacher from this level of understanding and practice.

Level Three Training and Retraining is more than a quick course with a certificate as an outcome. It is important to remember that Reiki is a spiritual practice with an energetic outcome and therapeutic benefits. It needs to be experienced to be understood. Each level is like a new beginning but the outcome is up to your personal commitment to practice. There is recommended reading for this level.

Reiki Share Night is offered twice a month on the first and third Thursday at 7pm. There are also gatherings which are offered from time to time on Sunday afternoons which may have a particular focus. You will have an opportunity to practice your deeper meditations and techniques which you have learned during your course. Reiki share night is a beneficial opportunity to practice on others and receive Reiki yourself. It is the practice of the energetic system of Reiki which brings optimal results.

Reiki Healing with Animals

The practice of Reiki healing is not limited to people. Over the last ten years I have used it extensively on horses in desperate need and very sick dogs, birds that fly into the windows and an assortment of farm animals. It assists healing after surgery and accidents and can work wonders on settling the emotional and mental hangover of past traumatic events which leave invisible scars but manifest in an animal’s behaviour. There are no limitations with the energy, only the limitations of our own minds.

Inspirational Reading

There are two journals available which I have written to give testimony to the healing energy expanded through Reiki practice. They are not just facts and figures but complete creative, true stories giving the reader a broad view of the situation and the ripple effect of working with universal energy.

The Tender Realm Of The Heart – volume one – A Spiritual Journey

Sarah and I invite you to share our intimate, spiritual journey with animals, nature and each other as mother and daughter. The stories are told through a mother’s reflective voice and cover a ten year period of time. Our foundations of mainstream beliefs were constantly challenged through our interaction with animals. The synchronistic events that followed ultimately led to the path of healing. If you love animals, you’ll love this book.

The Tender Realm Of The Heart – volume two – Silent Heroes

Volume two differs greatly from the first in that the stories, testimonies, reflections and contemplations are individual happenings rather than one continual storyline. The title, Silent Heroes, was inspired through the acceptance that we are all heroes in our own way purely through participating in the human journey of evolution. The animals are by no means forgotten in this volume and are an important part as they are more than often a catalyst for change. You will enjoy meeting the new loveable animal personalities along with their healing stories, children’s colourful testimonies and women’s healing journey’s as they move from trauma into the light of spiritual recovery. This book is like a variety show and offers the reader an opportunity to laugh, cry, reflect, get angry and be informed. I’m sure everyone will identify at some level as they read about the interactions along life’s journey and the healing that takes place.

Each journal is A4 in size with coloured photos on the front, back and inside covers. There are approximately 88 pages of print with plenty of great black and white photos inside. Reiki training can also be flexible and adjusted to fit around a person’s daily regime for instance, breast feeding mothers, carers, parents with tight shedules etc.

National Reiki Awareness Week

Open Day – Sunday 3rd June 1pm – 4pm

The Denju Centre will be having an open day from 1pm – 4pm as part of National Reiki Awareness Week. This is a free community event and an opportunity for members of the public to find out more about the Classical Japanese system of Reiki. There will be practitioners present to give 10 minute seated sessions of Reiki free of charge. At 2pm there will be a short talk about the Japanese origins and how Reiki works on different levels. Information will be available for you to take away and there will be plenty of time to ask questions, have a chat and a cuppa. Please contact me for further details if you wish to attend.

If you would like to know more about the system of Reiki Healing and its traditional Japanese energy meditations and techniques why not come along and have a chat and a cuppa and even experience what Reiki is. There will be practitioners only to happy to assist you. This is a free community event as part of ‘National Reiki Awareness Week’ and information will be available for you to take away. There is absolutely no obligation to sign up or commit to anything at all.

1pm – 2pm - 15 min seated Reiki sessions will be offered free of charge.

2pm - A short talk will be given about Reiki practice and its origins and how the energy works on different levels. There will be ample opportunity to ask questions.

2.30pm - The practitioners will resume giving 15 minute seated Reiki sessions.
