About Dizbowen
Hi, I am Dianne Adams and I have worked as a midwife for over thirty years, working with and caring for mothers and their babies. I am a mother of two wonderful adults and grandmother to a delightful toddler.
As a Bowen Practitioner I have had the opportunity to learn a new gentle touch balancing and healing modality called Bowtech®. This gentle modality is suitable for anyone from new borns to the elderly.
I was introduced to Bowtech in 2006. The Bowen modality originated in the 1960's by Mr Tom Bowen from Geelong. He was a gifted man that devised and treated 13,000 people with his healing moves that he performed on many people over many years. He then invited a couple, Ossie and Elaine Rentsch to observe his treatment. After his death, at his request they were able to teach his technique to others. Now it is taught throughout 30 countries around the world.
I am passionate about Bowen because it offers the world something unique in a gentle healing relaxing treatment.
I am committed to helping mothers, babies and families in improving their health and vitality, reducing their stress levels and fatigue and having a more enjoyable beginning to parenthood.
The Bowen Technique
Bowtech (The Bowen Technique) can be beneficial in a wide range of situations. It can assist recovery from many conditions, from traumatic injury to chronic illness, depending upon each individual's capacity to heal. Many clients report that Bowtech is the most relaxing modality they have ever experienced.
Some conditions that often respond favourably to a Bowen treatment include:
- Back pain and sciatica
- Digestive and bowel problems
- Earache and Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) problems
- Migraines and other types of headaches
- Fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome
- Hip, ankle and foot problems
- Menstrual and hormonal irregularities

- Groin pain, pelvic tilt and uneven leg length

A Bowen treatment is not intrusive, holistic all-embracing healing modality. Bowen is performed over light clothing, no oils are used and involves no manipulation. Bowen can also be performed while sitting if movement is restricted.
A Bowen treatment comprises a sequences of small gentle movements each at specific sites of the body. The precise movements on specific areas stimulate energy flow, which activates the body's own resources for healing.
Bowen is a gentle and effective with substantial relief frequently attained after the first session and generally clients only need two or three treatments, usually one week apart.

I had never had a Bowen treatment before, so I was unsure about what to expect during the first session. Prior to the sessions, my left wrist and elbow were particularly sore. Our in-home service operates throughout many suburbs in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
The standard rate for a Bowen treatment is $60 per hour, with the average treatment being one hour.
