As Chinese physicians, we believe there is a vital energy called ‘qi’ running though our body. It flows and disperses around our body like water. Qi has many functions: it nourishes our organs; provides protection against pathogens; provides energy for the circulation of blood and nutrients; maintains warmth in the body; maintains a clear mind. Each vital organ in the body has its own qi, for example heart qi, lung qi, stomach qi. Each organ’s qi runs along a specific pathway at a specific time and in a specific order. Heart qi runs along the heart channel. Lung qi runs along the lung channel.
The Ancient Chinese observed changes in these channels and found correlations between the channel’s organs. For example, patients with digestive problems would have very tender areas near the knee on the stomach channel; patients suffering from bronchitis or pneumonia would have redness, nodules or darkened skin on the lung channel; females suffering from gynaecological problem would have very tender areas on the spleen channel…etc.
When they applied needles to the tender points, it triggered the self-healing process in the body to relieve the symptoms. Experience has accumulated through numerous researches, studies, observations, and experiments for the pass centuries.

NIS bases its treatment methods on the scientific principle that the brain and nervous system control the entire function of your body. if your body is not functioning at 100% it may be due to a disruption within the brain's control. This phenomenon occurs when certain stresses exceed our individual tolerances. These stressors can be emotional, neurological, physical or pathological. A NIS practitioner uses a prioritized set of treatment protocols to locate and correct the interference to your nervous system, allowing for the relief of symptoms. During an NIS treatment your practitioner uses muscle tests and contacts specific anatomical points to identify which signals the body and brain are not receiving.
