CLAUDIA BERNARDI - NATUROPATH
Why see a naturopath?
If you really want to get on top of your health, it's important to understand the root cause of why you have become unwell. A naturopath spends a lot of time investigating all areas of your health including digestive health, immune function, nutritional status, medical history, diet, lifestyle and stress response in order to provide you with a suitable treatment plan.
How does it work?
A naturopath aims to get you back to your best of health using a combination of:
Western Herbal Medicine
Naturopaths are trained in western herbal medicine which may be included in your treatment. Herbs are natural, gentle to the body, non-addictive and are extremely effective in certain conditions.
Nutritional Medicine
Addressing nutritional deficiency is an important part of your treatment - you will be assessed using dietary analysis, signs and symptoms, mineral testing, live blood screening, biological impedance analysis and pathology. Your treatment may include dietary changes and/or nutritional supplements.
Diet and Lifestyle
Herbs and nutritional supplements are used in the short term, while the aim is to educate and help you make diet and lifestyle changes that will support your health in the long term.
Emotional Support
Flower essences support the body's emotional and spiritual healing and may be used in conjunction with emotional healing techniques gained over my years of practice.
Services
Naturopathic Consultation
Your initial naturopathic consultation will range from 45 minutes to 1 hour and will include full case history, gut bacteria assessment, zinc status test, iridology, blood pressure, tongue and nail diagnosis and discussion of treatment options.
Taking a Full Case History will involve discussing all the symptoms you are experiencing as well as going over the main areas affecting your health, such as diet, digestion, elimination, nutrient status, sleep, nervous system, medical history and family history.
Clinical Assessment
Urinary Indicans Test is a simple urine test used by naturopaths to determine your level of gut bacteria.
Zinc Status Test requires you to hold 5ml of zinc tally in your mouth for 10 seconds - you will be asked what you taste and how soon and your zinc levels will be assessed using this method.
Iridology is a tool used by naturopaths to determine one's constitutional and personality traits. This can be used in practice to enhance health and understand the emotional needs of the client.
Tongue and Nail diagnosis will help determine mineral status and digestive function.
Your treatment options will vary depending on the nature of your illness and how long you have been unwell. Factors such as lifestyle and financial status will be taken into account when formulating a treatment plan to suit you.
