About Elizabeth
I have been involved in complementary medicine since a young child as my mother believed in using natural therapies. I experienced homeopathy, osteopathy, spiritual healing and herbal medicine throughout my childhood which kept me healthy and full of vitality.
My first studies were in child development, prompted by the birth of my twin sisters, Amy and Vicky, when I was 14 years old. I became especially interested in the prenatal period and went on to study how children are effected by the emotions of the mother whilst in utero. I graduated from Warwick University in England with a BA honours degree in Psychology and Education in 1992.
Kinesiology was introduced to me after I suffered a neck injury that wasn't healing through other therapies. During the treatment the Kinesiologist explained that my neck injury was due to an emotional issue and administered some flower essences. I got off the couch able to move my neck freely and without pain! It was one of those life changing moments where I knew that I had to share the power of this therapy with others.
So more studying ensued and I qualified with a Diploma in Advanced Kinesiology in 1994 and went on to attend courses in some of its many branches, including Classical Kinesiology, Hyperton X and 3in1 concepts.
After which I also obtained Diplomas in Reflexology, Anatomy and Physiology and Indian Head Massage plus certificates from the British College of Nutritional Medicine, The Reiki Association and The Upledger Insitute in Cranial Sacral Therapy level 1.
After working with clients on an individual basis I became interested in how the environment affects us and studied Geopathic and Electromagnetic stress, using Kinesiology to create a healthy environment in domestic and commercial buildings.
Determined to share all of this wonderful knowledge I began teaching. My work was accredited by The Association of Natural Medicine, a registered charity that offers professional training in Complementary Therapies, and recognised by the Kinesiology Federation in the UK. I went on to found the Progressive Kinesiology Academy in 2000 with Miranda Welton. I received the formal title of Head of Progressive Kinesiology, and the Academy has continued to go from strength to strength.
Over 1800 clients have been treated in my own private clinic and I have trained more than 120 people to professional level in Progressive Kinesiology and Reflexology and many more at Foundation level.
Often invited as a speaker at exhibitions or to groups, I am totally passionate about what I do. I have been featured in Natural Health Magazine and have appeared several times in my local newspaper. I often submit articles to health journals and relevant publications. Progressive Kinesiology is a lifelong journey not just a job!
I live with my photographer husband Alan and our two sons, Harry and Stanley, around whom our love and lives revolve around! I practise what I preach and both the boys were born at home and have had little medical intervention.
Progressive Kinesiology
treatment roomProgressive Kinesiology is one of the most holistic therapies available to you today. It is a non-invasive simple technique that involves you lying on a couch fully clothed. I will ask you to place your arms and legs in specific positions while I apply gentle pressure to them. From the results of these muscle tests, which will be obvious to you if they are strong or weak, we can find the cause of the imbalance. This could be structural, emotional, dietary or energetic. I will then make corrections specifically for you and give you an individual program plan to go away with and put into practice.
As the treatment may involve lifestyle changes and dietary supplements you will need to ask permission from your doctor or consultant where appropriate.
My aim is that you will leave my treatment room inspired to take care of yourself and overflowing with ideas of how to do this.
As Progressive Kinesiology treats the individual rather than the presenting symptom, a wide variety of ailments can be helped. The treatment is suitable for all ages and children are welcome but they will need an accompanying adult if under 16 years.
