SERVICES

My intention:
What I aim for is to help people to achieve good health and wellbeing, through education and guidance with their diet, lifestyle and physical maintenance. I believe in treating the individual, not just their symptoms, and helping them to seek realistic and achievable goals for their health.

Why see a Naturopath?
Anyone who is concerned with their health, for acute or chronic illness, or just to trying to improve general wellbeing can benefit from naturopathy. Because we look at the whole person and then treat holistically, we can achieve success in helping long term underlying issues as well as addressing the presenting symptoms.

Naturopathic treatments can be effective for:
  • acute or chronic illness
  • stress: fatigue, depression, insomnia
  • headaches: migraines or recurring headaches
  • hormonal issues: irregular cycle, dysmenorrhea, PMS
  • fertility: conception, pregnancy, menopause
  • digestive issues: IBS, diarrhoea, constipation, weight loss
  • allergies: hayfever, food intolerances

I believe that a naturopathic treatment is appropriate for people of all ages who wish to improve their health in a gentle yet efficient manner.

I maintain a strong interest in women’s health, including hormonal imbalances, weight issues, stress and fertility. As I am also experienced in treating with remedial massage, I am able to achieve great results with combinations of treatment, as well as referrals to other relevant practitioners.

What happens during a Naturopathic consultation?
Naturopathic consultations involve assessing medical history, symptoms, diet and state of mind. Diagnostic tools include iridology, tongue and nail analysis and zinc status. The initial consultation usually takes over an hour and may lead to further tests such as urine analysis, hair analysis, liver function, hormone and allergy tests as required.

Treatment can incorporate:
  • herbal medicine: tinctures of herbs with specific treatment purposes
  • nutritional supplements: vitamins and minerals which may be lacking through diet or malabsorption
  • diet: improving health through better input and improved digestion
  • homeopathic formulas: low dosage yet highly effective remedies
  • flower essences: support for emotional and mental states

I use combinations of the above treatments, as well as lifestyle recommendations to manage and resolve the issues.

As much of the consultation can be personal and at times emotional, confidentiality is assured.

Practitioner only products:
I am extremely particular about selling only the best quality products which I have found, for efficacy, strength of dosage and verifiable quality. Compared to products available over the counter, the products which I stock will be more reliable as well as being of a higher grade of manufacture.

As a trained naturopath, it is my responsibility to only give products which are appropriate, and which will not interfere with any other medication or health condition.

My background:
Having spent 13 years in the financial markets, I finally worked out that what I enjoyed was helping people, not necessarily with just their finances. To escape this career path, I studied massage in Sydney.

I worked as a Remedial Massage therapist since 2001 in Queensland, Melbourne, Bendigo and Geelong, and enjoy helping people to achieve calm and relaxation through easing muscle pain and tension. I give therapeutic deep tissue massage using essential oils, and believe that regular massage is an enjoyable and essential step in achieving total wellbeing.

Completing my Naturopathy degree (Bachelor of Health Science) at ACNM in Melbourne in 2005 gave me the ability to find success in treating the individual not just their symptoms, and helping them to seek realistic and achievable goals for their health.

Part of my success lies in how I relate with the client, and my interest in people and their health. I have always enjoyed helping people, and helping them to achieve greater sense of wellbeing is something which gives me a deep sense of pride and personal fulfilment.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy)
  • Diploma of Remedial Therapies
  • Diploma of Remedial Massage

Member of Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS) since 2001.
