Our fully equipped Pilates Studio offers supervised exercise for those who are fit and looking for a challenging workout and rehabilitation clients who would benefit from low impact and safe, graded exercise. We tailor programs and work closely with you to suit your individual needs and goals.
The DIFFERENCE is that we work closely with you at every class to ensue you get the most out of your efforts. We do this by ensuring our practitioners work with a maximum of 3 clients each per hour-long session.
SERVICES OFFERED:
• Semi-private classes - Small classes ensure you get the attention and instruction you need.
• Physiotherapists on staff- There is a physiotherapist on the floor to supervise most of our classes and hands-on treatment is available by appointment.
• Health fund rebates: HICAPS available - Classes supervised by our physiotherapists attract rebates from private health funds. Check with your provider to see if you’re covered for “Physiotherapist supervised pilates classes”.
• Real time ultrasound imaging – A private session with one of our physios can check to actually SEE if the optimal pattern of muscle activity is occurring in the 'core' and hip muscles.
• One-on-one initial assessments are taken before you start so our experienced practitioners can design a program suited specifically for your individual needs.

PRACTITIONERS
SUSAN BOND
Physiotherapist, Clinical Pilates Practitioner, and Studio Director/Owner
Susie trained as a Pilates Instructor in 1996 after practicing the Pilates Method for 4 years as a client. She has over 20 years experience as a practicing physiotherapist, having worked in both London and Sydney in the public hospital and private systems. Susie runs regular lectures in injury prevention and integration of the Pilates Method into Injury/Pathology Management for various Pilates teacher training courses. She is involved in training physiotherapists in the use of real time ultrasound biofeedback to assist deep joint dynamic stabilisation.
Susie is member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association, Practitioner Level 4 Member of the Australian Pilates Method Association and a member of the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science. She has a special interest in treating and training dancers, sports people with muscle imbalance following injury, and in functional exercise rehabilitation for spinal and pelvic dysfunction.
MIKE GREEN
Senior Pilates Instructor
After many years in Corporate IT, Mike re-trained to become a Pilates teacher with the Laban school of Contemporary dance in London, and qualified in 2002 with the Pilates Foundation (UK). He subsequently completed an MSc in Dance Science. In 2003, Mike and his family moved to New Zealand where he set up his own studio teaching mat work and apparatus. In 2008, Mike and his family moved to Sydney and is pleased to be part of the teaching team here at Evolution Pilates. Mike's approach to Pilates is to find the ease and flow in the movements, using the breath to create this ease, even in the most challenging exercises. Mike has extensive experience with rehabilitative Pilates as well as fine-tuning movements for the more advanced practitioner.
KATE BLACKWELL
Physiotherapist, Clinical Pilates Instructor
Kate studied Physiotherapy whilst representing NSW and Australia in cricket between 2002 and 2008. Kate has been involved with the Australian and NSW Institutes of Sport as an elite athlete and has special interests in sports injuries. Kate combines manual therapies, including dry needling and muscle energy techniques, with core stabilisation programs to regain optimal movement patterns. Kate is also a qualified Pilates instructor.
AMY GARRATT
Physiotherapist, Clinical Pilates Instructor
Amy graduated as a physiotherapist from Hertfordshire University in the UK in 2005 and came to Australia in 2008. After working in the Royal London teaching hospital in the UK she brings a wide variety of experience in treating all musculoskeletal conditions.
After an own back injury and spinal operation Amy came across Pilates and has never looked back. Amy has under taken many Clinical Pilates courses, including pre and post natal Pilates. She is also a member of the Australia Pilates Method Association Level 2 Practitioner. Amy’s passion is using these Pilates skills and Physio knowledge in rehabilitating her clients.
Amy has also completed specialized training in the treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction in women. Her particular interest is treating pre and post natal women who suffer with incontinence and pelvic instabilities.
DANIEL SHEPHERD
Pilates Instructor
Daniel has an extensive background in dance having danced all over the world as a professional Ballet dancer in companies such as Royal Winnipeg Ballet, West Australian Ballet, Queensland Ballet and has performed with Tokyo Disney Land. After Practicing Pilates for over 10 years to help assist with his Ballet, in 2008 Daniel received a Full Pilates Certification through the APMA (Australian Pilates Method Association) and has since taught at various Pilates studios in Sydney and New York City and the Hamptons. Daniel also has a lot of experience working with Physiotherapists, with special interest in rehabilitation based Pilates.
JANE ROBINS
Pilates Instructor
Jane’s passion for Pilates comes from her own experience of the benefits of the Method. She came to Pilates back in 2000 when her own postural problems post-dance years and a desk bound job forced her to find a way of easing pain and discomfort without taking up residence in a physiotherapy clinic. Pilates also kept Jane moving during her competitive national and international level dragon boating, helped her regain mobility following surgical scarring, and got her prepared for Himalayan trekking in record time without aggravating an old knee injury.
Having reincarnated herself after being a lawyer for over 11 years, Jane is qualified as an instructor with the Australian Pilates Method Australia (APMA) and has been teaching with Linda’s Precision Pilates since mid-2010. She has experience with pre- and post-natal clients, seniors, rehab, beginner and advanced clients, and has a particular passion for working with sportspeople to enhance performance with specific programming.
KYLIE SUTTON
Pilates Instructor
Kylie trained with the Australian Ballet school for 3yrs in Melbourne and then was accepted as a professional ballerina with the Singapore Ballet Company. In 1990 Kylie was first introduced to Pilates after being diagnosed with Spondyloleithesis. Pilates was the best form of rehabilitation for her back injury and enabled her to continue to be a ballerina.
In 1995 Kylie returned to Sydney and did a Pilates apprenticeship with 'Body Control Pilates' and a fitness Leader course with FIA. From 1997- 1999 Kylie managed 'Solutions for Pain and Injury' for Osteopath Louise Adam in Drummoyne. When APMA (Australian Pilates Method Association) was founded Kylie became a member, she is now a level 4 member.
From 1999- 2007 Kylie ran her own pilates studio in the Eastern suburbs 'The Aligned Body'. After 8yrs of running her own business Kylie needed to travel and learn from others.
Kylie went on to work on the Central Coast, Qld, South Coast and has now based herself in Sydney and is looking forward to continuing her Pilates education.
