reiki
what is reiki? Reiki is simply "hands on healing". It is universal life force energy that is channelled by a reiki practitioner.
is reiki safe? Yes; reiki is used for the highest good of each person and may be used on the sick, pregnant women, children, animals and any other living thing or situation.
is reiki a religion? no; although spiritual in nature, it will work regardless of what religion, faith or creed you belong to. The beauty of reiki is that it will work even if you do not believe in it.
what can I expect from a treatment? a treatment is usually performed lying fully clothed on a massage bed. With eyes closed and listening to relaxing music your practitioner will treat the whole body using various hand positions that start at the head and end at the feet. how long will my treatment last? a reiki treatment usually last for 1 hour. The therapists hands are either placed on or just above the body and you may feel a warm sensation as you melt into a deep state of relaxation.
can I learn to use reiki? Yes, you will need to be attuned by a qualified Reiki Master / Teacher and with Level I you may treat your self. By completing Reiki Level II you will be able to become a Reiki Practitioner. Read more about our courses / workshops.
what are the benefits of reiki? reiki energy will treat your emotions, your physical body, clear any mental chatter or brain fog and give you insights that may help you on your spiritual path.
shiatsu
what is shiatsu? shiatsu massage is a Japanese based massage that uses finger pressure to treat imbalances and disharmony in the body. It draws on diagnostic principals and theory from Traditional Chinese Medicine.
is shiatsu like acupuncture? shiatsu uses the same points as acupuncture but does not involve the insertion of needles; rather the points are activated through finger pressure and in some cases elbows, palms, feet or knees are used.
what can I expect from a treatment? a treatment is usually performed on a futon on the floor. No oils are used for this treatment and you are fully clothed. Your therapist may have you lying on your back, on your side or on your front. Please read what others have said about their treatment.
how long will my treatment last? a shiatsu treatment usually last for 1 hour. Your first session will require you to answer various questions such as sleep patterns, night waking, pain etc so that you therapist can make a clear diagnosis.
what do I wear to a treatment? during a shiatsu treatment your therapist may stretch and rotate your limbs or show you how to perform various exercises. It is recommended that you wear loose comfortable pants or track pants ( ladies no skirts please).
is shiatsu safe? Shiatsu is in general very safe, however there are some points that must not be activated in pregnant women (particularly in the 1st trimester). If you are pregnant or think you may be then please make sure you tell your therapist.
massage
what type of massage do you offer? at experience relaxation & healing you can choose from remedial, therapeutic, relaxation, trigger point, pregnancy & infant massage. Alternatively, you can leave the choice up to your therapist's capable hands and they can deceide which treatment or treatment combination is right for you. If you are still not sure then please contact us to speak with your therapist.
what can I expect from a treatment? a massage treatment is performed on a hydraulic massage bed. Your privacy and comfort are considered at all times and therefore you are always draped appropriately with towels. No scented oils are used to minimise any potential allergic response.
can I expect more from my massage? No, the massage treatment is STRICTLY non sexual and is performed by trained therapists accredited with the AAMT (Australian Association of Massage Therapists).
how long will my treatment last? a standard massage treatment is for 1 hour, however longer times may be required for initial appointments or during injury management. Your therapist will advise you should an extended appointment be required.
how often should I have a massage? It is recommended that you have at least a monthly appointment so that you maintain your body at it's most optimum level. In some case, particularly acute pain or injury more frequent appointments are recommended. Please read what others have said about their treatment.
past lives
how long do readings take? allow up to an hour and a half for your session; as you may experience more than one past life during your session.
what should I bring? an open mind and a willingless to experince your past lives.
what can I expect from a session? it is best not to have any expectations so that you remain open to any information that is revealed to you. It is best to have a clear idea about what you wish to work on. For example "fear of being in enclosed spaces".
how will I be regressed? You will be seated and guided into a light meditative state. In this state you will be able to hear and speak during your session.
are regressions recorded? yes; you will be sent an email of your recording. If you do not have an email address then you will be posted a CD.
what happens if I cannot be regressed? fear or strong religious beliefs are the main reasons that people cannot be regressed. Techniques will be applied to overcome your fear but if after 20 minutes you still cannot be regressed then you will be charged $50 to cover the shorter session time.
psychic readings
how long do readings take? readings usually take 1 hour and are conducted in private by appointment only. Please read more about Joanna and her psychic abilities and if you are happy to proceed then contact us to make an appointment.
what should I bring? other than an open mind and open heart; an item of jewellery that is yours and only yours. If you have photos of loved ones then please bring those as well.
what can I expect from a reading? each person's experience is unique, in some cases strong messages will come from loved ones from the other side, information may be passed on, proof of existence offered, however in all cases you will be left feeling empowered, heard and loved.
are readings evil or bad? before each reading Joanna asks her Guides and Angels to give her messages that are ONLY for that person's highest good and will. Her readings are done with love and compassion.
can I ask questions during a reading? absolutely! Questions are encouraged, feel free to bring some with you or you may ask as your reading progresses.
are readings taped? no, Joanna does not tape her readings as she wants you to concentrate on not only the words that are given but the feelings and energy around your reading. You may however, bring a notebook and take notes.
how can I make the most of my reading? being open is the best thing you can do to ensure you receive all the messages that are there for you. By not engaging with Joanna and waiting for her to "pass the test" will waste your valuable time. If you are not comfortable in the first 5 minutes then you are free to leave at no cost to you.
