KINESIOLOGY
Kinesiology is an energetic model of healing which merges gentle chiropractic muscle monitoring techniques with the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, counselling, nutrition and energetic science. Kinesiology uses these techniques to assess stress in the body's nervous, digestive, muscular, reproductive, endocrine and immune systems and determine the underlying cause of this stress. Kinesiology resolves blockages in the body leading to improvement of one's wellbeing and vitality.

ACUPUNCTURE
Our Acupuncturists use Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) principals to gain an understanding of your health, environment and lifestyle. Treatment usually includes diet and lifestyle recommendations with the main treatment involving the stimulation of specific points on the body. A combination of techniques may be used to address the patient’s specific needs including Needling (disposable, sterile, single use needles are used), Massage, Reiki, Moxibustion and Cupping. TCM’s sophisticated understanding of internal conditions means acupuncture can be successfully used as part of treatment for a range of conditions including digestive, emotional, reproductive, respiratory, immune and other health problems.

COUNSELLING
As we face changes in life, it is sometimes necessary to find support to explore personal, emotional, psychological and relationship issues that may surface. OSTEOPATHY
The role of your Osteopath is to assess the physical issues that may be influencing your health and physical comfort. Osteopathy works on your muscles, joints and nervous system, combining techniques such as massage, bony manipulation, ligamentous balance, Cranio-Sacral balancing (osteopathy in the cranial field, or cranial osteopathy), stretching and exercise prescription. While very effective in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal problems (eg. sciatica, low back pain), Osteopathy can also help with problems as diverse as asthma, migraine, digestive problems, menstrual pain as well as the speciality areas of Pregnancy, Children and Baby Care.

MASSAGE THERAPY
Massage is essential maintenance for everyone. Most people wait until they are in pain before they have a massage, thinking it is all about their muscles. However, we know that regular therapeutic massage helps to maintain muscle integrity and posture, provides emotional relief and helps you to manage stress. The massage therapists at Fertile Ground Health Group specialise in both relaxation and remedial massage and are well versed in Pregnancy Massage. We are also proud to offer the traditional practice of Mother Roasting, a warming and restoring massage that aids the recovery from birth and nurtures through the demands of early mothering.

BIRTH ATTENDANTS
Statistically, women in labour who are Supported by an experienced birth attendant have shorter labours, use less pain-relief medication and have fewer forceps, vacuum or Caesarean deliveries. Having a birth attendant during your labour ensures you have the Benefit of continuous, known, one-on-one support throughout the entirety of your labour. A birth attendant is experienced in helping you to manage unexpected feelings or events. It is also useful to have someone who can advocate your wishes with hospital and other carers when you may not feel capable of doing so adequately for yourself.

INFANT MASSAGE THERAPY
Bonding with your baby means forming a unique and close relationship between you and your baby. LACTATION SUPPORT
The first six weeks at home with a new baby can raise a lot of issues for new parents. Lactation Support is an essential support for many women experiencing difficulties, facing fears about their skills as a parent and learning to cope with the daily demands of motherhood. Our Lactation Consultant provides Consultations in your home, enabling her to observe you in your normal environment. A Lactation Consultant provides support and expert help to resolve breastfeeding or lactation problems, teaches the art of breastfeeding, assists mothers to develop and improve their mothering skills and provides an ongoing support system for the family.
