FitnessforLife

At fitnessforlife, Daniel Yazbek is dedicated to achieving your results through a safe and effective exercise program.

Daniel aims to create an exercise program that will not leave you feeling sluggish, exhausted and in pain. You can still enjoy the benefits of exercise while achieveing the results you want without post exertional fatigue or muscles soreness. This approach enables you to train more often, reduce the likehood of injury, recover faster and achieve your results quicker.

Prior to becoming a competetive athlete himself, and being slighlty overweight, Daniel went through the highs and lows of being able to successfully comit to an exercise program. Eventually, with the external motivation of a personal trainer, he was able to fully commit himself to the challenges and goals set for himself. After just 2 years of training as an amateur boxer and with the neccesary exercise conditioning required, Daniel earnt himself winner of the NSW state Amateur boxing titles at 18.

After having completed certificate 3 and 4 personal training, In 2008 Daniel completed a diploma of Fitness Through the Fitness Institute Australia, and was asked to represent the leading school in fitness education (FIA).

Having first started as an athlete, personal trainer and now practicing as an exercise physiologist, enables both assessment and treatment of health through a scientific evidence based approach yet also being able to relate from an intuitive perspective.

Frequently asked Questions:

1. What is the difference between a Personal trainer and an exercise physiologist?

Exercise physiologists are university qualified and trained to deliver appropriate exercise interventions that rehabilitate or prevent chronic disease states such as cardiovascular, neurological and respiratory illness. They have a mimimum of 4 years training and understand the acute and chronic adaptations that occur during all modes of exercise.
On the other hand, Personal trainers study for a minimum 6 months, have very little knowledge about human anatomy, physiology, kinesiology and medication related side effects to exercise. It is clear that if one would want to receive professional guidance from an exercise professional, that Exercise physiologists should take precednece over a personal trainer.

2. What type of nutrition plan should I follow to be in conjunction with an exercise program?

For weight loss to occur, their must be an increase in caloric expenditure above the energy that is consumed by the individual. However, depending on what exercise intensities and duration of activities prescribed, alters the nutrtition plan. For instance, Person A has a BMI over 30 (obese) and wishes to engage in an exercise program of long duration/low intense exercise. Limiting the amount of carbohydates within the diet may be of benefit so he/she can mobilize more fas for fuel relative to glucose (carbohydrate). However due to the fact that the brain and central nervous system rely on glucose to perform there functions physiologically within the body, permanent avoidence of carbohydate over time will negatively impact on the physiological systems of the body and therefore a cycling on/off approach should be advised, along with working in conjunction with a nutritionist or naturopath. However, on the other hand Person B may be cardiovascular fitter and work at a high intense/low duration exercise plan, The role of carbohydatres in providing energy becomes increasingly importannt with high intense exercise. If person B fails to consume adequate amounts of cardbohydate over a long period of time with intense exercise, muscle damage and fatigue may result

3. What type of exercise plan would be of most benefit for me too loose weight?

When we exercise, stored or immediate fuel in the body gets converted to energy for movement. We expend more calories from fat in long slow duration activities than more intense activities. However, this is not to say that you should avoid any intense exercise. After high intensity exercise, the body consumes more calories at rest, and These calories come from a higher proportion of fat relative to carbohydrate. Therefore the best way to loose weight is a combination of high intense short duration and low intense high duration exercise activities.

4. Will current injury or disease state affect my ability to achieve my goals?

If you have or believe to have any factors regarding or concerning your involvement in exercise becuase of prior serious injury and/or musculoskeletal complaints, a health sreening questionairre and thorough postural analysis is conducted along with manual muscle testing. posture profiling will give a near accurate estimation of how the body as a unit will conduct itself in tasks such as running, walking or even strength building exercises. Additionally, exercise and injury history, Range of motion, muscle testing and palpation of the musculoskeletal structures of the body ,will give me an overall idea as to what the underlying problem or cause might attribute to. Also, having a disease state and being sedentary will exasperate symptoms and increase fatigue. The risks of being sedentary with a known disease outweighs the risk of exercise. It has been shown that Type 2 diabetes can be be managed if not reversed by participating in a graded exercise program.
