What is Naturopathy?

Your First Naturopath Appointment

For your first appointment you will be asked a series of questions regarding your past and present health & wellbeing, and while assessing each system of the body we also assess the body as a whole.

We then devise a treatment plan that is specific for you individually, while offering a warm, caring and healing environment.

A selection of herbal medicine, nutritional supplements, homoeopathy, flower essences, and dietary advise may be used. Screening tools such as Iris analysis, Bio-Impedance Analysis, Urine test, Blood Pressure check etc. may be used to further assess your health situation.

The Naturopathic Philosophy is the belief in prevention rather than cure and we aim to get to the source of your problem whist still providing symptomatic relief.

HERBAL MEDICINE

Herbal medicine is practiced worldwide, and the World Health Organisation estimates that 75% of the worlds population still uses the services of herbalists for their treatment. Herbal medicine is one of the oldest forms of medicine known. Today’s standards ensures herbs are researched and tested while incorporating traditional methods.

Herbs may be prescribed as tinctures, extracts teas or tablets.

NUTRITION

Nutrition plays an important role in promoting health and preventing disease, inadequate or poor nutrition can lead to an imbalance in the body which will undoubtedly lead to poor health.
Medications, stress, environmental toxins, poor eating habits all can affect nutrition and a persons health leading to disease.

Nutrition may include a change in dietary habits, as well as using vitamins, minerals, tissue salts, amino acids, proteins, probiotics, fibre, essential fatty acids or just using food as medicine.

HOMEOPATHY

This method is prescribed according to the symptom picture of the patient. A minute dose of a substance is given in a low concentration and is based on the Law of Similars – what a substance can cause, it can treat.

May be used in acute or chronic disease, physical and emotional and pathological states as well as non-specific disturbances of body chemistry and function. Homoeopathy may stimulate the immune system and restore healthy function of organs and tissues throughout the body. Given in drops, ampoules, sprays or pilules.

What is Iridology?

The study of health through examination of the colour and structure of the iris, the sclera and the pupil.

The iris is the most complex external structure of the human anatomy. Visual information is sent to the brain and at the same time there is information sent back to the eyes from the brain about the state of the organs and tissues in your body.

Iridologists assess colour and fibre structure variations to assess the constitutional strength of the physical body, as well as aspects of personality, which can be influenced by conscious and subliminal emotional patterns.

Iridology is not a treatment therapy. It is an effective screening tool used to detect inherent individual predispositions, and identify each person’s specific nurture points.

Iridology can be used to determine potential health problems at the earliest stage. This enables you an opportunity to prevent illness and maintain optimum wellness. My goal as an iridologists is to assist each person to be the best they can be.

What is BioImpedance Analysis?

A safe, non-invasive machine that measures your cellular fluid balance, fat and muscle mass which then also gives that person their cellular age compared to birth date age. It gives a comprehensive printout giving accurate areas on which can be improved giving the patient improved health and vitality.
