Acupuncture, Herbs and Oriental Therapies
Traditional Acupuncture is based on Ancient Chinese Medicine that has been around for thousands of years. It focuses on the flow of Qi (energy) and Xue (blood) through the distinct pathways or meridians that cover the body.
Acupuncture is a holistic modality that addresses all aspects of health including physical, mental and emotional. Stimulating acupuncture points enhances the free flow of qi, regulating and harmonising the energy to balance the body, relieving pain, stress, anxiety and restoring health.
Acupuncture is a complete medical system that addresses all conditions.
Psycho Emotional Problems
As our society continues to move at a faster pace, we are finding many people who are reaching a crisis within their psyche. Causes range from information overload, stress from multitasking, financial pressures, family pressures, as well as a broad range of external and internal conditions.
The consequences of psycho-emotional problems can range from personal to affecting the family and work environments, and can reach as severe as suicide.
The symptoms include:
Depression
Anxiety
Obsessive-compulsive disorders
Postpartum depression
Insomnia
Stress and neurosis
Post-traumatic stress
Shock, adrenal exhaustion
Patterns of imbalance present as:
Excessive worry and/or over thinking, long-term excessive or repressed emotions such as anger.
Acute conditions with outbursts of anger and/or aggressive activities, irrational actions, abusive language, flushed face, red eyes, insomnia.
Strong restlessness, little self control, being thin and/or emaciated, mallor flush, heat in the palms, night sweats, insomnia.
Poor concentration, muddled thinking, forgetfulness, dream-disturbed sleep insomnia, anxiety palpitations, fearfulness, sadness, fatigue, poor appetite.
Dull and muddled spirit, apathy, melancholy, inability to concentrate, nausea, chest oppression, fatigue.
One of the great attractions of Chinese medicine is that it addressed the whole person, integrating body, mind and spirit within its understanding of human health and disease. Addressing the emotional and even spiritual dimensions of a patient is a prerequisite to healing.
''Yellow Emperor's Inner Classic''
If one is calm, peaceful, empty, without desire, than true qi follows. If essence and spirit are protected inside, from where can illness come? If will is at rest and there are few desires, the heart is in peace and there is no fear. Those who keep their minds unimpaired within, externally keep their bodies unimpaired. If the heart and emotions are strong and in harmony then the other organs of the body - perform their different official roles - and will naturally follow.
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture
Facial Acupuncture enhances not only your physical appearance but also your overall health, giving you a glow that radiates from deep within. Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is a whole-body treatment.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine a person’s face is affected by their internal organs. Facial features reflect organic strengths and as internal organs are fortified, one’s face reflects the improvement.
Besides addressing a patient’s condition holistically, we will also work locally with specific wrinkles, stressed muscles and acu-points. When the face is treated it increases collagen and elastin production as well as stimulating and relaxing the underlying facial muscles.
This treatment is deeply relaxing and is designed to treat the constitutional imbalances, stress and anxiety, as well as the face itself. By treating the face, and improving the function of the respiratory, digestive, nervous and endocrine systems we can:
Improve collagen/elastin production, and early aging
Reduce bags and sagging
Help eliminate fine lines and diminish larger wrinkles
Help reduce double chins and lift drooping eyelids
Improve puffiness and water retention
Improve dry, sensitive, and discoloured skin
Tighten pores and brightens eyes
Increase local blood and lymph circulation
Improve facial colour and radiance to the skin
Improve metabolism
Increase energy
Improve immune function
Reduce stress and improve sleep
To see the best results over a short period of time, five to ten treatments are recommended. However, you will see and feel the difference after the first session. Healthy eating is also highly recommended.
Duration of session is 1 1/2 hours – first treatment including free initial diagnostic consultation.
