Mindfully Moving Forward - an online 8 session course:
Focussing on Mindfulness techniques, participants will be asked to introduce new practices into their daily routine. If you think you don't have time for something else in your life, consider if you want to continue to worry over ruminating thoughts, missing a lot of life because you are living in your head.
Each week participants will be emailed new Mindfulness tasks and information to broaden their understanding of behaviour and gain more enjoyment out of everyday relationships. Strategies aim to reduce stress, become more productive, stop procrastinating, be more accepting of self and others and ultimately live a more engaged and meaningful life.
Personalised Face-to-Face sessions can be organised at Session 3 and Session 8 to ensure ongoing changes.
Starting with two non-threatening psychological assessments for Depression and Anxiety, those with clinical levels will be referred onto further support.
As the course is online, each participant will be able to move through the 8 sessions at their own pace.

What can I expect from Counselling?:
Counselling can often be thought of as a painful process of telling someone you don’t know, all your deep thoughts and secrets, and they in turn will tell you how to fix your problems.
Talking about or facing problems can seem to be a really scary process. In reality, counseling is finding a safe connection with another person who understands what it is like to suffer.
Everyone has concerns about certain things in their life, even counselors! Having someone there to listen but also help see things a little differently can be very relieving. The amount of information you tell in counseling is always within your control.
At Future Directions, counseling is used to help you explore what it is that is causing concern; find ways of how to approach this concern from a different angle and then build the strategies to help changes occur. We focus on how you want things to look, what is within your control and then how to go about changing. We have a solution-focused model which is based on identifying strengths and values and understanding ourselves a bit gentler.
Often people want to know why they feel a certain way or how they can control a certain feeling or situation. By looking at strengths, values and life stories we can become more active in getting our thoughts out of focusing on past events, or worrying about the future, and into the present moment where life can be more rewarding and satisfying.
