Sheila has been a practicing healer for many years. She has studied specialised Bowen techniques to Diploma level and is also a qualified, practising personal trainer. Sheila understands your body and will assess you thoroughly before treatment ensuring you receive the most appropriate and effective techniques for your condition. She treats the body holistically rather than just the presenting symptoms. Her main aim is to help you return to a pain free state of harmony and balance.

Bowen Therapy
Bowen is a gentle treatment consisting of a series of rolling, connective-tissue moves which allows the body to reset and heal itself. Most often, effective pain relief is provided after just one session. Your treatment can be carried out through light clothing as no oils are used. The initial consultation will take one hour and subsequent treatments may last from 30-45 minutes. Most often, a surprisingly few sessions are needed to alleviate complaints, whether structural or functional, even if long-standing. And the results hold, generally until there is a re-injury.

When the body loses mobility, through some kind of trauma or simply through reduced usage, connective tissue may lose it’s fluidity and is unable to function properly. Bowen therapy works to restore the fluidity and physical integrity of connective tissue thereby restoring the mechanics of the body.
You may experience emotional release, deep relaxation and various sensations throughout your body as Bowen works to restore balance which continues for several days after treatment. Sheila will also offer advice on how to manage your condition with exercises and stretches to do between treatments.
Unlike many other hands on therapies, the technique does not involve forceful manipulation and can help clients of all ages and at all levels. Bowen is so much more than a massage and can be effective for balancing not only the musculoskeletal system but every system in the body.

My fitness programs are tailored to meet your needs wherever that may be. It is important to me that you enjoy your program! Your personal trainer will appreciate it too! You don’t have to spend hours in the gym “pumping iron”. There are lots of enjoyable ways to exercise and Sheila will do her best to help you find your niche.
Even if you haven’t been in a regular exercise program for a long time, remember it’s never too late to start. Once you get going your body will soon feel the benefits and you will start to enjoy regular exercise.

You may wish to choose the morning if your energy levels are higher at that time or in the evening after work to get over a stressful day. There is no ideal time, only one that suits you.
Once you establish a routine that works for you and your family the greater the likelihood of success.
Even if you feel tired it’s worth giving it a go and you’ll soon realise how energised you feel afterwards.
You may wish to lose weight as well. Research has shown that the most effective treatment for weight loss is a combination of dietary restriction and increased exercise. This should produce the greatest maximum weight loss, will preserve muscle mass and ensure that most of the weight lost is fat. This in turn is likely to have the best effect on the body’s metabolism.

Over the past 15 years I have seen numerous Chiropractors and Physiotherapists and none have been able to relieve my discomfort for any extended period of time.
