Contact Name GARY HEHIR - Certified Rolfer and Remedial Massage Therapist. Do you have - Headaches? Neck Pain? Back Pain? Chronic Pain? Poor Posture? Poor Flexibility? Low Vitality? Rolfing is a form of manual therapy and movement education which re-organizes the bodys structure. Only when the problem of structural mis-alignment in a body is addressed and corrected can chronic musculo-skeletal dysfunctions be properly resolved. Through the Rolfing process it is possible to free restricted joints and muscles, relieve chronic stiffness and restore mobility. Movement becomes easier and more fluid. Pain disappears entirely or is greatly reduced.

"I have suffered from chronic neck and back pain for more than ten years and have spent over $30,000 on different therapies. Amongst the many healthcare and medical professionals I have seen in that time Gary is the only therapist who has successfully treated the pain and headaches I was living with daily. Thanks to the Rolfing series I received and the subsequent Gua Sha treatment Gary provided I am about 80% recovered and continuing to improve. I cannot recommend him highly enough''. M. Boughton - Cremorne

Headaches? Neck Pain? Back Pain? Chronic Pain? Poor Posture? Poor Flexibility? Low Vitality?

Stress and strain, acute or chronic, physical or emotional, mis-aligns our bodies. Hips rotate, shoulders hunch, spines twist or flatten, necks shorten and pull forward. Energy lags. Pain and dysfunction follow. Movement instead of being easy, graceful and pleasurable becomes difficult, awkward and painful.

Through the Rolfing process it is possible to free restricted joints and muscles, relieve chronic stiffness and restore mobility.

Rolfing is a hands on process of soft tissue manipulation but it also a process of movement re-education and employs techniques to encourage the self-organizing, self-healing capacity of the body to re-pattern the nervous system and through sel-awareness change the clients perception of their body. Changes in perception lead to immediate changes in the firing pattern of muscles and co-ordination. Movement becomes easier and more fluid. Pain disappears entirely or is greatly reduced.

Although every client's experience of Rolfing is unique, the most commonly shared outcomes are;

Lasting relief from pain
Improved posture
Enhanced flexibility
Greater ease of movement
Heightened body awareness
Greater sense of vitality
Improved balance

Some of the conditions that Rolfing is known to help are;

Headache, Neck Pain, RSI, Sacro-Iliac Dysfunction, Sciatica, Migraine, Bursitis, Plantar Fasciitis, Fybromyalgia, TMJ, Tennis Elbow, Lower Back Pain, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Period Pain, Frozen Shoulder

Services I offer

Classical Rolfing

Traditionally Rolfing is a ten session process often refered to as 'the recipe'. Rolfing has an wholistic approach to healing in which the body is viewed and treated as a whole entity. In the traditional Rolfing 'ten series' the various aspects of the body are firstly, differentiated from each other and then re-integrated in a seamless process that brings alignment and balance. The basic therapeutic premise behind this approach is that, in the absence of significant pathology, when the body is bought into alignment most dysfunction and pain will disappear or be greatly reduced.

Rolfing outside 'the recipe' - manual soft tissue therapy

Some individuals for a variety of reasons cannot undertake the 'ten series' but still have a great need for aspects of the structural bodywork that characterizes Rolfing. Some may require more specific, extra work for pain relief so that they can get back to living their lives. An alternative to the 'ten series' is a shorter series of more targeted sessions. While still following the principles and insights of Rolfing it is possible to focus more on particular problems and a lot of good can still be achieved in this way.

I employ a variety of techniques in my work including myo-fascial release to free fascial restrictions, soft tissue mobilisation to free restricted joints and if warranted myo-fascial dry needling to release trigger points and gua sha therapy to remove toxic wastes from the tissue.
