She has a Diploma of Health Science (Massage) from Victoria University, and has completed both basic and advanced courses with ISBT (International School of Bowen Therapists). She is a member of AAMT (Australian Association of Massage Therapists). Health Fund Rebates are available for most Health Funds. Workcover treatments are available at Lower Templestowe clinic only. MODALITIES
Bowen Therapy
Bowen Therapy is a dynamic technique that promotes deep relaxation and empowers self-healing. It works holistically to balance the physical, mental and emotional aspects of the body.
It is an oil free technique applied directly to the skin or through very light clothing. It is safe for all ages.
Treatments comprise sequences of gentle, rolling movements applied to specific sites. Time is allowed between sequences to enhance healing and encourage relaxation.
Conditions treated include musculo-skeletal problems such as sciatica, groin and hip pain, RSI and Carpal Tunnel, neck and shoulder pain, respiratory complaints such as asthma, digestive and hormonal conditions, headaches, sinus, and stress.
3 treatments a week apart are recommended, but some conditions resolve with one treatment, and single treatments for maintenance and relaxation are always available.
Initial treatment: 1 hour.
Lymphatic Drainage
This is a very gentle oil free complete body massage designed to improve the efficiency of the lymphatic system thereby increasing lymph flow and assisting the removal of toxins and waste products from the body. Very slow and gentle this treatment encourages deep relaxation.
Full body treatment: $90.00 (1.5 hours)
Pregnancy Massage
These treatments are specifically designed to help relieve the muscle aches associated with pregnancy and to relax both mother and baby.
Relaxation Massage
Flowing moves that relax the muscles, ease tension, and de-stress the body. The use of nourishing aromatic oils enhance feelings of well-being.
Remedial Massage
A deeper massage which targets specific muscles. Techniques may include myofascial release techniques, trigger point therapy, and vacuum cupping.
Treatments usually comprise a combination of relaxation and remedial techniques. Massage can reduce swelling, lessen stress and anxiety, relieve muscle tension, alleviate pain and stiffness, improve flexibility, reduce scar tissue, assist in injury rehabilitation, and help alleviate neck and shoulder pain. Regular massage can help prevent injury for sports people and reduce recovery time.
