WHO AM I
I am a former forensic scientist and originally intended to specialise in Forensic Hypnosis. However, I have been overwhelmed by the success of Hypnotherapy in so many areas.
I am now a Clinical Hypnotherapist, mainly working from the Academy of Applied Hypnosis (AAH) at Lindfield. Additionally, I see clients privately when they have difficulty attending Lindfield (eg. business clients in Sydney’s CBD; clients at home with agoraphobia, time or mobility problems).
I am also a Lecturer and Co-ordinator of Distance Education at the Academy.
I am very keen to advance the profession of Hypnotherapy and have given numerous talks to a variety of organisations over the past ten years. Furthermore, I have presented several papers, including:
Keynote Speaker at the New Zealand Hypnotherapy Federation Conference "Parkinson's Disease, Hypnosis and the Dopamine Connection" (2008)
Australian Hypnotherapists' Association "Parkinson's Disease and Hypnosis" (2006).
Australasian Medical Students Conference "Hypnosis - A Global Medical Procedure" (2003).
15th International Symposium on the Forensic Sciences. Received scholarship to present "Forensic Applications of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy" (2001).
As a former scientist I have an interest in the scientific basis of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy, particularly as to why Hypnotherapy is so successful. I am currently writing papers on Hypnosis in the treatment of Depression-Panic Attacks-Phobias-
Anxiety-Stress and Attention Deficit Disorder.
Feel free to contact me should you wish to discuss the medico-scientific bases underpinning Hypnosis.
ACADEMY OF APPLIED HYPNOSIS
The Academy was established in 1983 and is arguably Australia’s premier school of Hypnotherapy. It is a Registered Training Organisation and was Australia’s first school of Hypnotherapy to receive government accreditation of its professional courses.
Students at the Academy are assessed for competency and must pass rigorous and demanding standards prior to graduation.
As well as using suggestions the Academy graduate may integrate any of several other therapies to enhance treatment during Hypnosis and to expedite reaching your goals. These include:
- Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies
- Neurolinguistic Programming
- Rational Emotive Therapy
- Counselling
- Transactional Analysis.
The Academy has several courses available, ranging for those wishing to learn about hypnosis to those who would like to practise Clinical Hypnotherapy. Please contact me for further information.
