Welcome to Golden Hand Therapies

Hello and allow me to welcome you to the beautiful energy of Reiki. Reiki is a form of energy work that promotes healing in the body on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level and is a sought after therapy for not only humans but for the animal kingdom as well. Millions of people use Reiki to help themselves stimulate the natural healing process and more and more animal owners are seeking alternative therapies for their precious ones.

Reiki is a powerful complement to both conventional and alternative healing methods and can speed the healing process and minimise side effects. A Reiki healing session takes approx 45mins - 1.5hrs (on humans and can shorten in length for animals) and is done by the placing of hands in certain positions on or at a short distance away from the body and is generally a very relaxing, stress reducing, peaceful and joyous experience (treatment can also be done in the absence of the receiver of Reiki - Distance Healing).

During a session sensations of heat, coolness, tingling and/or pulsating may be experienced. Recipients remain fully clothed during a session. You may enter a state of deep relaxation or you may slip in to a lovely sleep. This is the same for the animals and they seem intuitively to understand the power of Reiki to heal. For healthy animals, Reiki can help maintain energetic balance and promote their health and well-being.

About Me

My Reiki Journey

My first Reiki session was back in 1995....since then Reiki has been before me many times and in many different ways. However, back in September 2010 my life hit crisis and I can now joyously and gratefully say that I successfully survived suicide.

I then went back to Real Estate but only stayed for another eight months. Previously, I had been in Real Estate for 12 years and had other Corporate and Administrative roles. At other times, I had my own House Cleaning Business and I was a Personal Trainer. I started to realise that I could no longer be truly happy and true to myself in those environments when I started to sprial down again.

It was a conscious decision and a great leap of faith to leave that employment and focus on healing and helping myself. Reiki played an empowering positive part in my healing journey which then allowed me the space to sit back and really think about what it is that I really love doing and then how can I incorporate that in to every aspect of my life.....I love love love my dogs, I love love love Reiki and I love love love helping and inspiring others to be the best they can be.

This all led me to Reiki I and II as well as a business course which assisted in the professional creation of Golden Hands Therapies - Reiki for You & Your Pets. I will be doing my Reiki Master Training later this year.

It has been a very long and challenging journey. However, I am so very grateful for every single experience I have ever had and for the positive learnings that I now take forth with me. I am just so fortunate that this now allows me the gift of being able to reach out to people in ways that would not have been possible before.
